Hi Folks and thanks for taking us along! Good on you Sam for protecting Joyce from that man eating crab. Wanted to mention that I tried that spice that's so tough to pronounce and I like it a lot. The big A place has a trial size that would work well for traveling... Take care y'all!

I love your videos, reminds me of when I was young and we would go to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit my Mom's family and would go crabbing. Great fun and great eating. When you get ready to replace your chair, go to Harbor Freight. They have the best chairs and many times you can get them on sale for $19.95. They will not sink in mud or soft sand and have a bunch of pouches on one side and a fold up table on the other. I love to buy them and give them to friends. Have a blessed trip. PB

Thanks, we're glad we can bring back those memories. We'll check out the chairs.

at 10:24 - i agree with you not to drown them in ice that melts. i use the blue ice blocks from walmart. they work really well. just got some live ones the other day and did my video cooking them but i am NOT as brave as you, grabbing them with your bare hands. 😊
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors Жыл бұрын
We started putting some ice in plastic containers, you just have to keep them cool. I guess the crabs don't bother me that much but the lobsters I used to catch years ago up north made me careful.

Not really a fan of ring traps... we would lose more in those than with handlines... darn things would climb right out before we could get the trap into the boat...
@officerkrupke4966 Жыл бұрын
You must of had the wire mesh ring traps. They only escape from the string rings if they get flipped out from laying on your line, thats why sam uses the floats.
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Handlines do work better except when you're on a high pier. Thanks again for Watching

Isn’t it illegal to catch female crabs?
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors4 ай бұрын
Not in Florida or Mississippi where we crab, some commercial crabbers actually target them certain times of the year. According to the Smithsonian Research Center taking female Blue Crabs doesn't hurt the population, but targeting just male crabs does. Thanks for Watching our videos
