I find it shocking how people are surprised at this, as that's the entire purpose behind a Good Soundfont.

I think I have to disagree, and even argue this is an unfair comparison. DOOM's "soundfont" is really just a general use MIDI soundfont, and thus allows for a nearly endless list of musical themes to pick from, like metal in DOOM's or Duke Nukem's case, quiet suspense in Blood's case, or barely serious "edutainment" tunes in Baldi's Basics' case. However, SM64 forces the music to fit a very specific theme because its soundfont is entirely tailor-made to Mario's style, which in some cases just doesn't work with other songs. I still haven't heard one Pizza Tower SM64 remix that didn't feel like it lost substantial parts of its identity with the soundfont change. It's not that it only needs to be a good soundfont; rather, it needs to be a *versatile* one.

I wasn't expecting the arrangement to be so good. Some of these Mario 64 remixes often have questionable arrangements, but you chose the instruments so well! Not doing the intro vocals was also the best choice here. Everything just sounds really good, amazing job!
