The two girls that were part of Carmell would form the Caramella Girls later on, so I think they would have easily seen the impact of the song, even if they just re-released the song as nightcore. Also those two boys would form their own group after Caramell disbanded in 2002 and later split up to do stuff for their own careers in other works.

A remix being more popular isn't that uncommon. Swedish is a Germanic Language; English also is a Germanic Language, it comes from England after all. Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French are not its closest bretheren, as they come from Latin whereas English comes from Proto-Germanic right along with German, Frisian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, and Danish. They're all brothers, and when you hear the lyrics, "Klappa era Händer" and "Nu ar vi här me Caramelldansen", They're indeed exactly what you think they are

they don't really need "justice". the group broke up years before the meme took off and they were fine with not returning even after that happened. the owner of the label changing the marketing to the caramella girls doesn't seem to be an issue if they don't really care what happened to the track as a meme anyway. it's really just this record exec trying to milk as much popularity out of caramelldansen as possible without using the very much disbanded group to do it. the ethical implications of changing the marketing as a business and archival move are weird but both the company and the group seem to be fine with it so there's no real "justice" to be desired. they're fine

to summarize jan Misali's video on the history: Caramelldansen was made by Caramell, then the OG Norwegian duo Nightcore remixed it. the remix was included in a popular flash loop from 4chan of an anime opening with two girls dancing to the chorus of the song, then it blew up from there. some time after the meme, the original record studio used their ownership of the rights to attempt to revise history, inventing the caramella girls who supposedly made the sped up song and a bunch of other bad ones no one cares about (to fill out their discography, presumably). and by the time the resurgence of the meme happened, a ton of people actually believed the caramella girls were real.

I definitely prefer this version. It feels really comforting and nostalgic as someone who listened to a lot of Eurodance growing up. I love it❤

the remix is so much more popular that the original has 29k views and the channel has 206 subs, so much less fame then the original they are underrated compared to the nightcore remix
@7th_Heaven Жыл бұрын
think of the original as the proverbial Yanou Candlelight remix to speedycake sure they are not cascada but the general ratio is close.

Is pretty common in the music industry the new version, the cover or the plagiary get much more popularity than the original
@7th_Heaven Жыл бұрын
@@Matias-ee9zy New is not always better. Even Linkin Park's self-made remix album did not fully eclipse Hybrid Theory. Fraudulently inflated views have driven certain Sony/BMG/Atlantic/UMG and other songs back into top 40; especially where those entities are behind the scenes co-patrons of Billboard. However in European stuff it all depends on the DJ. Tiesto remixed Pirates of the Carribean as a bona-fide fully kosher part of the OST and that beauty came out *amazing* , but in terms of general remix is better than original I would say no more than 40% fully surpass original versions. And then there are the songs which, for all intents and purposes were S class to begin with. Three examples of that include "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle, "The One that Got Away" by Natasha Bedingfield, as well as TI ft Rihanna's "Umbrella". I own a few albums. And since making this newer youtube account have worked on a few playlists... 😉 so do not speak without qualifications. Have a wonderful week, liking your comment cause plaigerism is screwed up and folks have GOT to give ID3 Tag and physical album credit where it is truely due. Even if it is not a copy-paste sample.

You think that's bad? Imagine how the artist **SPEEDCAKE** feels with his most popular song being attributed to a typo of his actual name - there is no "y" in his label name : (

lowkey* Nightcore tends to be in a higher key, and also the speedy mix has a key of F# major and 165 bpm while the regular version (this) has a key of Eb major and a bpm of 138
