Great video/upload! Many Thanks! It's just unfortunate that during the Drum solo, "Paradox", that the camera LEAVES THE DRUMINE after the opening ten seconds! Auggh! (And, just like Finals, no shots of the Tenors ;) ) For any DL/Snare line members: the Snare single-stroke accelerando in Paradox *here* sounds almost like a mix of '82 and the end product of '83, as it starts blazing early and seems to keep going. The accelerando from Finals (iirc, because the viewer never gets to actually see, unlike '82) has only the left hand strokes for the first measure of sixlets, then the alternating SS sixes start. It's the right length, here, but just seems to be like a hybrid of '82/''83. Congrats on winnig Dum Caption that year: what a party that must've been!

I think it was a requirement in all early 80s DC video, PBS or amateur, to show the tertiary feature will the primary was showcased.

So glad this was posted. All the content from the BD website has been pulled. One of my favorite years.

You are correct Jon. It is early tour sometime in June. I recognize Sharon also because I am the one that replaced her. I met the corp in Ogden and then marched a Flugelhorn hole (no horn) for 2 shows in Southern CA. - LA. Concord

I learned her soprano spot in the 2 weeks before big tour and then finished the year.

I marched in 1983. This has to early on first tour. Closing drill is abstract; no fans for CG in ELB; no poles to hide the streamers; and right at 2:00 you can see the sopranos doing a stop move. The third person in the line is Sharon, my girlfriend at the time. She was replaced between first and second tour; and went to march in the Velvet Knights for the rest of 83, and in SCV in 84.

Must be at a camp -- doesn't look like Atwater HS tho -- and early in the season (on tour, maybe)...some sloppy feet and a slightly different horn book in places, as is the drill from the gate turns to the end. Even with the poor pic quality, I think I can recognize a few people I marched with in the 84 corps.

A great video of an '83 Devs Contra section run-through, basically.

Shawn--howdy! This is, I am guessing, around late June or early July. I am on the end of the Quads. I was moved in between Keith and Glen somewhere around early July. We were in Louisiana in August. We did Bossier City, then moved on to Montgomery, Alabama, Atlanta for DCI South, and then we headed to finals. At least that's what my memory is telling me. Neal Flum

Oh this has to be on tour. I have no recollection of any camp facility looking like that. And look how hot everyone is. This has to be Alabama or Georgia. Tour went through the Bible Belt this year. I don't remember the beginning if the closer sounding like that either, so defin

Very very wierd NOT hearing any applause after a song ends. I understand this is practice, but I've heard the finals version of this show so many times it's almost like my sound is cut off after each song.
