hey awesome footage Damien! If i may input something, I think the footage would be more dynamic if you get more of the line than just zooming in on the snares, ie getting at least 3 snares in a shot/moving out away so you can get more members in the shot. I'm really digging that second camera for the quads though, really cool perspective. Please keep up the awesome videos!

He did NOT just start tuning a snare without crossing the head... he Siad he does it all day long. Then he does it wrong all day long. NOONE would suggest you go in a circle torque tuning. That was nuts. I'm surprised the drums are tuned that well given that fact!
@tdubasdfg8 жыл бұрын
My first time seeing those quads up close. Thats sick they took that part of the rims out. Brilliant design.
@tdubasdfg8 жыл бұрын
+Nick Dobbins i see how some could think that but i see it as innovation. instead of practicing to not hit rims and hitting rims all the time...just remove the rims. it's genius i bet the lack of rims allows these guys to play things not possible on other drums. let's see how long it takes the rest of DCI to "copy" aka just do something that really makes sense
@johndeer47898 жыл бұрын
If you ask me, it comes off as a complete cop out. Groups are playing beats that can give other top groups a run for their money, with traditionally designed drums of course. One would even argue that it changes the stature of what quad drumming has always been Writing and executing the repertoire in this instruments' own respect is an art form of its own. The instrument in it's own right, is so prestigious as it is and altering them to hit less rims with this design definitely takes away from the prestige. It would be as if you started marching two bass drums, stacked on one another, per bass drummer, just to get splitting 5lets to sound smoother. It definitely changes the game, but isn't a game-changer by any means.
@RandomYoutube12348 жыл бұрын

+Brandon Cooper I'm not a brass player, so I have little to no idea what you're referring to. But you just listed a whole bunch of additions/replacements to certain subjects. These rims subtract a small yet large part of what quad drumming is to drummers- whether that be a negative part or a positive part. I'm not a quad drummer, but I've been around enough quad drummers to know that this is definitely perceived as the "easy way out". In a way they can easily shoot themselves in the foot with this new thing. It doesn't seem to be helping the rim paradigm at all; I mean they're still hitting them like crazy in this video for sure. And while people will come with "their still hitting rims because that's how hard their content is", you can't overlook that these rims are suppose to eliminate that issue. That doesn't go well for their image seeing as how the crank their quads higher that anyone else in DCI, making their rims significantly lower to begin with. *wink face*

their music is so basic compared to the Cadets in my opinion. it's almost show like, but each corps has their own style so I shouldn't think much of it.
@chiabass8748 жыл бұрын
I would say BD writes for context moreso. It can be more sparse and melodic, but it definitely fits into how they structure the program. Cadets edge the line of overwriting at times, but it's really a reflection of larger philosophical ideas of the organizations. BD is a perennial Sanford contender for a reason though.
