Quad dude was Colby. Marched SCV 2005. BD 2006-07. Marched RCC a couple years too.

BD's front ensemble was really great in '07 and set them apart from PR. No doubt a huge contributor to the percussion score which I'm totally cool with since the pit gets unfairly overlooked too often.

Quad is Colby Beers. Won I&E that year. Played in ‘06 as well with BD under Tim Jackson. Also an SCV and RCC vet.

I was there in 07 in the lot and in the stadium-BD definitely way cleaner on the move then other groups. Also BD front ensemble was doing great stuff. And as much as the body looks dated as it is looked at from present day eyes-it was way more than other groups were doing and executed at a high level.
@richbrass122 жыл бұрын
So here's the thing, in our year the staff was wanting to incorporate more WGI type body into our show. If you look at any show around that time no one was really adding body for the full corps. You will see a lot of visuals, but not full on body. It was from 2007 and on you started to see the body and dance become more elaborate every year

PR’s snareline blew up really bad in their closer on finals night. Bluecoats front ensemble was no where close to Blue Devils front ensemble. BD’s finals tape sounds better than everyone else overall. I thought PR was going to win drums until I heard the finals judges tape

BD cleaner on the move in the stadium than other ensembles. Also BD front ensemble did some really great things this year (as usual)

@@DrumlineAV I’m pretty sure Blue devils won drums on Prelims, Semis, and Finals. All 6 judges had them at 1st throughout the 3 nights. So I don’t think a few bad moments by PR was the difference maker. I think the judges just liked what BD was doing.
@DrumlineAV2 жыл бұрын
@@joshuagass6442 I would agree with that. I just like to make it clear that PR did not deserve to win drums even if people assume they played like they did in the lot videos. Bluecoats were incredibly clean but did have the kind of book in the front ensemble that BD had. BD was great on the field and may have been iffy in the lot. But the field show is all that matters. 2007 BD deserved to win drums. They were the best percussion section all around that night. The judges definitely liked what they were doing and rightfully so.

There are definitely BD haters in the same way there are Lebron haters. People like to hate on the best. People also feel like BD gets the benefit of the doubt and assumed to be amazing even when sometimes they aren’t (I would fall into that camp, but I also give them praise when they are great). That’s how I’d sum it up at least -Mike
