Oooh, I love how Jane Wu has experience with both martial arts and animation, and gave the animators martial arts classes so they knew what certain movements felt like! She really understands what’s needed for great animation.

I mean that just works best in animation and game design. Hideo Kojima also had a consultant for his Metal Gear series, whose name I forgot, who taught the staff how to use weapons properly and how professional soldiers moved, so they could properly animate everything.

Stunning Visuals, Fight Choreography is beyond amazing, the patterns on the traditional outfits is just beautiful, great story, characters, Character development, emotions and aura of characters are layered and detailed. This has been the most fantastic animation I have ever seen. Not only is the attention to detail (wardrobes, landscape, etc, etc) immaculate, but as a martial artist myself I just fell in love with the fight scene choreography.

Making the animators do martial arts so they could know what it feels like to throw a punch or kick and hit something was such a stroke of genius. I binged the show so quickly and had been rewatching trying to figure out exactly why this shows fights looked so damn good compared to almost any other anime and that explains a lot of it.

Interesting BTS look - that fight scene clip (at the end of this video) from Episode 5 with the 1000-claw Army is incredible and it would be interesting to see this fight scene done by the actors. LOVED this series and look forward to Season 2. The wait will be arduous...
