Honestly I think he is way more than a casual though. He's a pretty hardcore gamer. He might not have the time for it anymore but it is clear he was a hardcore gamer by the way he talks about games and the level of detail he goes into. Casual gamers just pick up a title and play it they won't be analysing the grind difference between WoW classic and the expansions that's a telltale sign of a hardcore gamer right there Not to mention he finished Witcher 3 not once, but what did he say 2, 3 times? Casual gamers don't finish games, which makes up the large majority of gamers out there. Only 24% of all Witcher 3 players on Steam have defeated Eredin (the boss of the base game) And this is the case for many games out there; Jedi Fallen Order only 32% of all Steam players that own the game have completed the campaign Take any game out there, check the Steam achievements and it is quite shocking sometimes Stray for example, that indie game where you play as a cat in a futuristic post apocalypse city it is a 10 hour long game maximum. If you don't explore for collectibles it can be finished in probably about 6 to 8 hours, So not a particularly long game... Only 41% of the people who own the game finished it Now you might be thinking oh maybe people bought it and didn't launch it. Well 94% of the people that own the game completed the tutorial so only 6% bought it and never launched it yet Anyway my apologies! I have gone off on a bit of a tangent but you get my point about casual gamers vs hardcore gamers. If you've finished Witcher then by definition you are definitely not a casual gamer

@upsidedownpyramid7617 Жыл бұрын
@@the0skeptic warhammer 40k is the sci-fi equivalent of warhammer fantasy, it is a grim dark science fantasy franchise with a ton of video games and a table top rpg and war strategy game behind it. It’s one of those interesting franchise where good and evil is very skewed and essentially the “good guys” are the Imperium of man, a human empire stretching over millions of conquered worlds led by the god emperor of mankind. He is worshipped as a good by all people and the imperium is known for being incredibly xenophobic and constantly waging war on everything that moves, slaughtering other species in he name of their god emperor. They put people to death for heresy, which can take any form, from being a worshipper of the gods of chaos, to simply not stepping out of the way quick enough for a higher rank. It is a super deep rabbit hole that I’ve recently been traveling down. Warhammer 40k darktide recently came out and it is a horde survival shooter much like left for dead or the warhammer fantasy series vermintide. I wasn’t aware Cavil was doing a series but I am super excited now, I haven’t seen any popular films or animation on the franchise despite its huge pop culture success in tabletop and video games. The lore is stupid in depth so it will be fairly difficult to not massively screw up a film adaptation sadly, I am holding out hope that it’s good and well received but realistically he’s gonna have a big challenge with it.

@@ratnapkins7853 Honestly the best part is that he betrays EVERY negative gamer stereotype which is always good to help destigmatize gamers. Even today many people's first mental image of a gamer is a useless overweight unclean basement dweller who can't function in any social interaction. So thankfully Henry is the polar opposite of that which could help some people realize that a lot of gamers nowadays are also actually pretty social, go to the gym often and take care of themselves. (Now of course it's generalizing since there's people who sadly reinforce the stereotypes like... just look at a lot of reddit subs, and most would fall inbetween probably).

This is the thing about non-gamers and gamers. There will always be a wall between them. As a gamer myself, the non-gamers not only have no concept how games work, but they think there is no fun by pressing buttons on the controllers and stare at the TV screen and we should be doing something productive 😑. Some people I talked to in my previous jobs STILL thought we are in the days of 8-16 bit pixels!! Also the non-gamers don't know much about the gaming jargon, so they can easily misunderstand what I've said to them when talking a tiny bit about video games. As for talking to gamers, as nowadays they are more into mainstream stuff and most of them only play FIFA titles, while I play some of the mainstream stuff but dig into more niche titles that no one around me plays, it's still a struggle when talking about my favourite titles lol. So yeah, I feel sorry for those non-gamer actors who are stuck in the same interview room with Henry when clearly the interview is about a video game adaptation lmao!

@korzbro352 жыл бұрын
@@paulsad7624 But of course you can make a great story not following the book, having some fresh ideas but sticking to roots. More or less like games did. But here, we are having heavy agenda insertion and making everything as woke as possible, using the universe as a vessel, not enriching the universe with new, cool events but painting everything with agenda. And you know, no, modern audience is not that bad - they do not quite want that - that's why we're having controversies. Large studios want us to think we need that, but that is not true. The trend is shit, not the audience.

As a parent, may I shed some light? Having hobbies is great, I don't know any parent who doesn't want their kid to have interests, but a full life has variety, and sometimes with kids their interests become obsessions. Our job as parents is to show the variety of life. And lately us parents aren't given the kind of advice our grand parents and great grand parents were given, so we are basically flying blind trying to do the right thing.
@ilikememes14022 жыл бұрын
@@bethkrager6529 True. But as a child myself, that takes time. I assure you that your situation doesnt equate to mine nor the masses, I wont be assuming anything. But to do what you suggest needs time. Time to show them, convince, and to be consistent with it. Kids need the time to be shown in any age, even after 5 years old. You also need to put this idea into your kid in a young age. But know that I, a teenager, got convinced to go outside and have friends from my parents. You can convince someone even as old as I am, you just need the time to show and the understanding of your childrens' situation.
@tl13262 жыл бұрын
@@bethkrager6529 as a child you need to be convincing in your approach, if you want someone to do something, there should be an incentive that benefits them in some way, and one of the best in that category is fun. your child can’t have fun if they are upset can they?
