We bought $15 so-called "tournament ready" decks on eBay and dueled with them. Paul and Trell play Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Blue-Eyes White Dragon respectively. Which deck will win?

I think u guys should keep these decks nd do a lil tournament yourselves with em. The two caviouts you should make is 1 u guys should be able to add 1 of all the extra deck in theme monsters,(blue eyes would have more options) 2 you shouldn't be able to add any staples but u should be able to remove the cards like poly in place of dragon's mirror etc.

looking at the eBay listing it likely all those cards all came from the “legendary decks 2” as all those cards are in the legendary decks 2 collection but it’s missing some of the ultra rares it came with the blue eyes Ult dragon is there, but It is missing maiden with eyes of blue and melody of awakening dragon. Also the legendary decks didn’t come with three copies of protector with eyes of blue, master with eyes of blue etc. What likely happened is that the seller bought multiple “legendary decks 2” collections, sold the singles he could make a quick buck off of and repackaged the bulk as these “tournament ready decks”

Hello! A person who likes red-eyes here. I would like to make a few comments about the deck and how to help make steps toward fixing the awkwardness if anybody reading is considering playing it. This is also me writing so that I can think of plays to do with the deck. Red-eyes fusion is useful for bringing out your fusions; but you have to think about what it is really: a foolish burial for a warrior or a level 6 dragon monster (as well as normal monsters). A good level 6 to send is mana dragon zirnitron as it protects your backrow on future turns (which is appreciated in some red-eyes builds). A decent warrior to send is the phantom knight of silent boots as you can banish it to add a fog blade or a phantom knight’s sword. The only reason you’d do red-eyes slash with fog blade over dragoon is if you’re afraid of dark ruler no more/you want to run less garnets. Red-eyes fusion has a hefty limitation to it though in that you can’t summon before it is activated or for the rest of your turn after it is activated, but if you use the predaplant link monster you can mitigate the clause that prevents you from summoning before the effect’s activation. Another card you will notice that adds consistency to the deck is red-eyes insight, which is a search with an archetype-specific foolish burial attached. Not much to say about this card besides that the only spell worth searching with it is red-eyes fusion, and that spell is extremely limiting. It does have good traps you can search though. Cards of the red stone: This is a very clunky draw spell that kinda understands what red-eyes wants but not completely. Red-eyes player’s generally don’t want the level 7’s in their hand and would prefer them in the deck or in grave, which this card does, but this card is a brick without the very few red-eyes level 7’s in hand. It shows how it’s a bad draw spell in that I only recommend running it over allure if you have a way of easily searching the level 7 red-eyes that isn’t black metal (because if you use him you should be searching darkness metal). Cards that do this are summoner’s art (but this does the opposite of what you want in having a red-eyes in hand so if you don’t have a cards of the red stone, this card leads to a dead card in hand), and Giltia the D. Knight which is actually pretty decent as it isn’t necessary to use its secondary eff, but you can if you need to. I’d recommend playing if you have giltia. (Btw giltia can search phantazmay). It also has a foolish effect on the end of the spell for level 7’s, which isn’t too useful. It’s also a hard once per turn which isn’t great for how specific it is. What we can gather from all of these is that red-eyes is pretty good at getting monsters in grave and tends to limit you from summoning on your own turn. A trap to consider that plays very well with this is necro fusion. It banishes monsters face down from your grave to fusion summon a monster. (This is the only way I’ve found of being able to use the red-eyes archfiend as fusion material for archfiend black skull dragon without jumping through hoops.) Necro fusion is searchable through the trap card traptrick. Since it is a trap you can use it on your opponents turn, even using the same materials that you used for the red-eyes fusion you did on your turn. Red-eyes for some reason has to put up with Geminis, which is a net negative for the archetype as Gemini’s just require too much resources to be good and the red-eyes Gemini’s aren’t too great for the investment you have to put into them, but there’s something funny you can do with them with the trap card Gemini Ablation: if your opponent activates an effect that would destroy a red-eyes monster you control, you can chain Gemini ablation, ideally discard the black stone of legend, then proceed to summon meteor dragon red-eyes impact from the deck (with its effects due to Gemini ablation) which will make the destruction effect do nothing as impact prevents other red-eyes monsters from being destroyed and you get another body on field. If impact is destroyed, if it comes back to your turn, you can recycle the impact with black stone of legend, in the process getting another card to discard for Gemini ablation’s effect and making Gemini ablation live again meaning you only need to play 1 impact to continuously do this. The black stone of legend. The game is pretty fast nowadays and red-eyes doesn’t have many cards that this guy’s first effect can bring out that can make major plays for you except gearfried (only if you have a black metal in hand and a red-eyes in grave) or a level 7 (which can only create more plays if you have another way to get a level 7 on the field this turn, without using your normal summon). This card is substantially better for its second effect of being able to shuffle a red-eyes from your grave (where plenty should be) into your deck to add it to your hand, which allows you to generate advantage from discard effects like giltia. An example of a very ideal scenario: Activate giltia’s second effect to pitch black stone, add a level 7 red-eyes to hand, use cards of the red stone to pitch the red-eyes added to hand, draw two and pitch one level 7 from deck, activate black stone in grave to shuffle a level 7 back and add it to hand. We started with a giltia on board, a black stone and cards of the red stone in hand, the end result was a giltia on board, 2 new cards in hand + the black stone, and a red-eyes level 7 in grave. The end result is a +1 to your hand (though one card in your hand is pretty dead) and graveyard setup. Black metal dragon. Stupidly good. Especially with link summoning and darkness metal. Just an example: normal summon black metal, link for any link for strike dragon, striker dragon adds card from deck to hand and black metal adds red-eyes darkness metal from deck to hand. Banish striker dragon, use darkness metal’s effect to bring back black metal dragon, link off black metal and darkness metal for a link 2 and use black metal’s effect. What does this mean? Off of a normal summon you’ve got at least a link 2 monster, boot sector launch, and red-eyes card in hand. None of this changes if you manage to draw one for one except if you draw one for one you get a normal summon in addition to the link 2 monster and a +1. Always run 3 and one for one. Red-eyes darkness metal: Stupidly good. limited, but searchable. Since we know red-eyes is good at setting up it’s graveyard, consider running Dark Armed Dragon (searchable by giltia), as well as Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation, which can be put on top of any level 5 or higher dark Dragon so long as the conditions are met. Flare metal is a good xyz to go into due to the amount of normal monsters red-eyes tends to put in grave. Red-eyes retro, and red-eyes alternative. They’re decent when used in conjunction. It could make you go from losing a monster you had on board to having 3 bodies on field, 1 with a floating effect. Overall not the greatest. They’re a lot better when you have cards that incentivize you having a normal monster on field like Piercing the Darkness, Champion’s vigilance, mystical elf - mystical burst stream. Alternative also is a way to get rank 7 plays into motion. Retro is a good target for something like successor soul. Dragon Revival Rhapsody: amazing. If you have a level 1 on field (black stone and black metal and one for one), you can create relinquished anima (or dharc the dark charmer if you have the materials on board). It’s inital clause has been met, now you just need 1 more monster in grave, the normal monster, and you can bring back the level 1. This should be easy enough to do with draw spells and insight. Return of the dragon lords: very good for xyz and link plays. I’m probably missing some key cards in this, but look at everything you can do to improve the deck and straighten out what makes it clunky.

Okay that's nice to see but...* Me who Played the TCG recent with Red Eyes: No infinite impermanence. No Red Eyes Dragoon. No links or hand traps? Shoutout to people who sells these kind of decks, this is great for players trying to get into the game. New players would just ignore Konami Structure Decks maybe because they arent interested in that Archetype it's based on. This is a great opportunity to buy a deck and upgraded as you play YuGiOh more.

Can you make a video for new players for meta decks or good decks for tournaments? Even if you don't have the decks introduce how to build a consistent deck and theory craft. Love the videos btw

That was a good duel. It went back and forth. It was anybody's game. Now that's dueling. At least thats how I remember it. Not the current "OTK" and "FTK" special summon combo bullshit. This was actually fun to watch.

For a total of around 30 dollars on ebay, you can get the the red eyes deck, and a couple of extra cards to make it better, and it would work in a tournament, plus if you have maybe a couple other monsters you could add you can make it really good

There was a misplay on cloning. When the monster that the token copied was destroyed the token is destroyed too. So when Retro Dragon was destroyed by Dragon Spirit the token would be destroyed

OKAY!! I want it to be known now that when Trell says he activates Azure-Eyes effect to pull Blue-Eyes at around 1:45-2:00, the caption subtitles say that he pulls a "louisville dragon" I can't be the only one who's seen this.
