My dad saw these guys live in the mid 80s. Amazing sound!

I saw Blue In Heaven opening for The Damned less than two months after that album came out. Live, the band had a much rawer sound and an unpredictable stage presence. All The Gods' Men is bathed in a more fuzzy, foggy atmosphere filled with reverb, but nothing surprising since the album was produced by Martin Hannett! The studio band and the live band were a really different animal but just as good. This album and their follow-up titled Explicit Material both deserve a CD edition (which they never got).

"Old Ned" off this album was considered a 'lost song' for almost 30 years, with people looking everywhere for the song name, until it was found 4 years ago.

Excellent Production by Martin Hannet on this underrated album that wasn't successful for Island records ..Probably would have been better served by Rough Trade or Factory. Nice to hear again !

One of my all time favorite album, thanks for the upload! The atmosphere of Blue in Heaven reminds me of The Sound / Adrian Borland and Dole. They are a must also, check them out!
