Blue Lagoon | Hidden Gems | Snowdonia National Park | Eryri | North Wales

One of my favourite places to visit in Snowdonia. This place is absolutely beautiful, the water is turquoise in colour and the day I went, it was warm, the sun was out, it was bliss.
It has had a bit of a bad reputation in the past for having the wrong crowds visiting and leaving their rubbish, which makes me very sad, but if we all look after it, we will be able to enjoy this place for many years to come.

Fascinating place, did wonder if it was a slate quarry, and if it was safe to swim, but the water looked very clear, a piece of wonderland right there, you find some amazing places 😊❤

Yes.. well it’s very deep and does seem to get much colder the further in you go.. but I like to stay close to safety because you never know ☺️

EIn a beautiful place Char, with really beautiful water. I found the reflection of the rock walls very interesting. My first thought was, like in a mirror labyrinth. If the first impression counts, then my first impression was 😲Wow! The garbage left by other people, annoys me at the moment also on the Rhine 😤 It's a pity that people have no respect for nature 😥 Thanks for the beautiful video Watching the video in the garden at 34 degrees ☀has already provided a bit of cooling 🤗

Thank you again so much my misses and my dog and myself went yesterday, the gap in the fence has been repaired but if you follow down further there's a return in the fence that's really rusty and you can fit through, The weather was amazing water was so cold. I went in bare footed, note toself remember river shoes. Those fine shards of slate painful to walk on. Thank you again we've made some beautiful memories xx

That lovely blue water is known as acid mine drainage (AMD). In this case sulphur. Do not swim here! That is why there was fencing and warning signs that she walked right past. Crazy.

@@joshdunn1994 it can be Josh, just depends what’s been mined in the quarry. Some countries have dyed these types of waters black to stop people swimming in them due to contamination. We do have lots of natural blue lagoons in the UK but anything that has been mined/ in a quarry that is that colour is suspect.

Just to let you know during ww2 , chemical and biological bombs were kept in that quarry hole , I wonder if they leached into the environment 😮
