I was fortunate to have seen the Bouchard Bros. play at a barn dance on their parent's farm in upstate NY. This was before they graduated high school and before BOC. I was a young teenager and my family vacationed just down the road from their place. A far cry from BOC and this concert, but I can say I knew them when....

Anybody out there who (foolishly) thinks that Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser can't wail with the best of 'em on electric guitar needs a listen to this. Great stuff, thanks for the upload.
@vincentmarino98864 жыл бұрын
Hey John, I see you posted this a year ago:).......... I just saw BOC 2 weeks ago and this was the conversation ironically. Now, let me say first that my friends and I are all musicians, some guitarists, NONE I say NONE that can compete with Donald Roeser. Sure we can wail...... but some is a bit of trick or illusion so to speak. There are techniques such as, trills, vibratos, pull offs ect.... that require practice and skill, then you throw in some delay and distortion and you look like a star to some people..... But, Donald is incredibly melodic and clean picking. To do so at that blinding speed is an immense talent. He's also incredibly imaginative, has beautiful phrasing etc. He is simply a phenom and a great human being to boot. Cheers.
@richardjohnson43733 жыл бұрын
I see both of you posted a little while ago but the talent of Buck is top notch. I have played for sometime and his melody is up there with the best (Rhodes, Van Halen, Young etc etc . . .) This is the part I like best someone told Tom Petty your stuff is easy to play. He replied with then you write it. With Buck your stuff is hard to play. He says yes but you try and write it. All sound starts as silence then you give it form. Buck has a sixth sense about melody. This song is great but could use more cow bell. Keep Rocking BOC ! ! !

I saw BOC at the Dane County Coliseum with Be Bop Deluxe in Oct'76. It's kind of strange that the few audio/video clips that I've loaded from that era seem way too slow from what I remember of that concert...I mean...they were like lightning that night...one song after another. They did a medley of Paul Revere's "Kicks" and "Flaming Telepaths" that still brings a smile to my face. I was pretty young and it was one of my first concerts, but I often compared other band's live performances to BOC's. Be Bep Deluxe was also an awesome band.
