This was broadcast on Chicago station, The Loop, on my 21st birthday, October 13, 1979. I threw a huge beer party-13 kegs of Michelob. The best part? I was 20 when I bought the beer! I had 2 concert speakers blasting this concert. I lived 45 miles east of Chitown. Every keg was drained dry by midnight. Oh, the memories. Thanks BOC and FM 98.

Yes, no doubt. I always hate that I was born just a little too late to see the original 5. Their shows were absolutely epic. I was a big acid freak in my teens/early 20s. I would’ve killed to take a hit or two and go to a show like this one.

The first time I saw BOC was in 1982 at The Rose Bowl with Journey. They played in the early evening. The 2nd time was at Perkins Palace in 1983, which Really Kicked Ass!! Rick Downey was their drummer. Joe Bouchard totally rocked. We were right in front of him about 15 feet away at a table. He was really into it. The next time was at Long Beach Arena on November 30th, I think, that same year. That was amazing! Rainbow was co-headliner. They were a huge wall of sound and strobes ( and mirror skulls). Saw them in 1984, too. And several other times since then. They were one of the coolest live acts to check out.

This was the first concert I went to. I was in 7th grade. Just saw them again 0ct. 12, 2019. These guys are the best. I’ve probably seen them at least a dozen times, the lineup has changed a little bit with the Bouchard boys leaving and Allen Lanier’s passing. It still outstanding absolutely awesome show to see.

Sadly, the only time I’ve seen BOC was the next day in Omaha NE. At the time I really wanted to see Rainbow and Ritchie Blackmore. Rainbow cancelled due to the singer having a sore throat. This is one of the best performances of D&S I’ve ever heard. Same with ‘Cities On Flame’ it’s a shame about the vocal mic, but everyone else is KILLING it. I like the effects on Joe’s bass; that really adds to the heaviness of the sound. This might be my favourite ever Buck Dharma performance on this tune! P.S. Rainbow are amazing; seeing the two together must have been extraordinary.

Buck’s guitar sounds AMAZING! Some of the best tones I’ve ever heard. Those of you that were there- what guitar was Buck playing during this show? This is a GREAT show. Albert’s got the double-kick goin… Those effects-laden drum solos were AWESOME. You never see/hear stuff like that at concerts anymore. What happened to everyone? I HATE that I had to live to see the death of rock & roll. I mean, it more or less only lives on in the bedrooms of old geezers like me who decided he never wanted to grow out of it.

I've seen 'em a dozen times through every period - but sorry, they've always disappointed me live. Too much simplistic bar band slop-fest volume on 11 BS and none of the snarky intelligence and incredible dynamic nuance of, say Secret Treaties. January 31, 1974 - Hershey Park Arena - Hershey PA: BOC opened for Black Sabbath. I was there. Black Sabbath was the headliner. I had never even heard of them before, and I became an immediate fan. I was so blown away by BOC that Ozzie and company seemed mediocre by comparison.

Boy, this show was terribly mixed. Joe's bass is too prominent. I can't hear the vocals on Cities. I'm sure there's other issues to follow.
