I was born and raised in Blue Ridge and it's really shallow just to just a town by one trip and by the area that is SUPPOSED to draw in tourists. It's call commerce. But this is a review that talks about how to discipline a child by punching it in it's face. People that actually plan a trip here know what we have to offer. The amount of repeat traffic and recent home sales have shown that over and over. I'm sorry if we did not meet your expectations but it's a shame because we probably welcomed you openly and would again. GOD BLESS YOU!

My daughter lives and works in Blue Ridge. I visit from the Chicago area several times a year. The rafting, tubing, kayaking, swimming, and hiking are awesome. The downtown area is just for eating etc..

You showed up to a town with 300 miles of hiking trails including the southern terminus of the world-famous Appalachian Trail, a beautiful lake, the best fly fishing in the South, more than 200 square miles of US Forest Service lands and native American archeological sites all over the place with very low population density, paddleboarding kayaking and horseback riding.... and you couldn't be bothered to leave a 1/2 mile strip downtown. Next time do your homework.

So I went to Blue Ridge/Mineral Bluff for vacation, and geez! First of all, I would just like to say that the part of Blue Ridge you drove through was the commercial portion. All of the beauty that I saw was along GA 515/US 76, with the hills, open road, and a great view of the Blue Ridge Dam on one side of a bridge. Speaking of which, you must have missed a turnout before the dam that my dad and I parked on. It had a beautiful scene of Blue Ridge Lake. I also want to ask, why do you dislike seeing tourists in tourist-focused areas? I mean, a town isn't a tourist trap for having tourists. It only becomes a trap by packing in with overpriced products and excessive souvenirs. Also, is getting people to fight you criteria on your vacation plans? I just don't understand why comparing Blue Ridge to towns in completely different areas makes sense. My vacation to Blue Ridge was an incredible experience. Did it change my entire life? No, but it will stay with me for that long.

I love Blue Ridge and have been visiting there for over 25 years! I fly fish the rivers and streams and enjoy the small town feel. There is an abundance of things to do in the area like on our last visit the grandkids hiked, tubed, swam in lake blue ridge and also went to the apple festival by ellijay. Ok you get my drift there are to many things to mention about how great Blue Ridge is. I’m from Louisville KY and love Blue Ridge!

I have lived near all the top ski resorts in Colorado and if it were not for people (toursits) there would be no ski lifts or anything. You guys have this unrealistic mindset. Dude Colorado is the same way. You can be in Vail, Breck, Beaver Creek etc and its all full of tourists. They only have like 3k population and would be a ghost town for not the tourist.
