I've not seen such joy in someone's eyes when discovering new music interpret like he had :) BUT I really needed some wake up call when on 4th night shift because I couldn't even keep my head straight and this one really DID woke me up good :^)

He got tied up in legal stuff (FiXT were fucking him over and wouldnt let him realise ANYTHING, but on Bandcamp all three Lakes of Flame single listings (standard, instrumental, and comaduster remix) had FiXT replaced with "Cyberpunk Music" in the credits, so it seems he's won the rights to Obsidian from FiXT. And earlier this week he posted what appears to be an album teaser, and did a makeover of his website that includes a little hidden design that when unjumbled reads 'Obsidian'

It's unlikely that anything would have changed if Bret hadn't left. He has been showing early versions of Obsidian songs for a very long time, most likely even before leaving the label. In general, the whole trilogy is like Lakes of Flame, divided into different parts.
