What you're doing is quite special, the great jazz pedagogue Lennie Tristano decades ago strongly advocated musicians to play solos of great artists who used a different instrument; eg like you are doing, playing sax solos on guitar. Musicians thought processes often end up in limited channels according to the particular limitations of their own instrument, so playing transcriptions originating from different instruments does something special to musical-mental development. I don't know whether you know this already, but you're doing yourself a favour, you're obviously very talented already but you're doing something quite early in your career that will be giving you an edge compared to if you weren't doing this. I wish you well.

Cheers Phil. The hardest thing about listening to jazz is keeping up with the pace of the new musical information coming through. I've found that through transcribing I've been able to train myself to keep up with the pace of what I'm hearing.
