Blue Whale Sighting in the High Arctic

Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic guests in the High Arctic near Svalbard spotted a blue whale, the largest animal to ever inhabit the Earth. On a calm day and in clear waters, they had a rare experience of being able to see the entire cetacean.

Imagine just sitting around being lazy, hanging out on the couch and just chilling when all of a sudden, a dozen aliens pull up outside of your crib in their spaceships and peak through your window in complete amazement saying “oh my god!” taking photos and admiring you as you yawn and fart for a minute. What a life a blue whale has lol

I know everyone is commenting on the "oh my god"... but if you see these giant things up close, your whole spectre of "huge" crumbles. These things are enourmous. These guys are the largest animals that ever existed. I was speechless when i saw one up close. I couldn't fathom how big it was. Only way i could describe it, was like a skyscraper building moving along in the ocean. It was mind boggling.

I actually saw one during a whale watch. And so everyone understands, Humpback and Fin whales, no dwarfs by any measure, don't look enormous compared to a large boat. But seeing the whale when it was near the boat, it was shocking how huge it was.
