Blue Whales in Newport Beach June 2022 | Largest Animal on the planet

This week we had INCREDIBLE ENCOUNTERS with Blue Whales, just off the coast of Orange County! We had at least 5 unique Blue Whales cruising around in the channel between Orange County and Catalina Island on Saturday, two of the 5 whales where mom's and babies, or what we call a cow calf pair.
On Tuesday our Naturalist's aboard our sister boat Newport Coastal Adventure ‪@pacificoffshore‬ saw another cow calf pair of Blue Whales cruising around, just offshore. These cow calf pairs have been extremally boat friendly, with the babies 'mugging' the boat, doing little spy hops, and even rolling around right next to our small fast raft!
Our small fast rafts go fast and far and are the best opportunity to see Blue Whales right now off the coast of CA if they are in the area. The most amazing thing about these encounters is that Blue Whales are the LARGEST animal to have ever lived, larger than any dinosaur, and are the size of 3 school busses! With the whales being so friendly, it's an amazing sight to be on a boat that's 4x smaller than this giant whale, which can grow to lengths of 100ft or more!
