Tip: When putting it back together, I recommend putting the mute button in *before* the volume knob. That way you can look at the point where it snaps in and make sure it's aligned right.

Not really. I am really lousy at soldering. You can get a solder gun pretty cheap and there are lots of videos out there that will show you the basics. I think practice and it's not hard to do. Just takes a certain touch to be good at it. Crappy soldering will work most times, too. :)

In theory, you could probably change the connector from USB Mini-B to USB C just by soldering the right lines to the right places. I'm not an electrical engineer so don't take my word on that though

So let's summarize...You don't list the part needed to make the repair. You fade to black when the critical steps of removing and replacing occur and you cut away for the soldering because you are really bad at it. Perhaps you should go back to filming your cat.

@Richard Kordel I not only listed the part but gave you a link to go straight to it. This is not a "learn to solder" video because I am not good enough at it to teach you how to do it. This is a video about how to replace the USB plug on a mic. Which I told you exactly how to do. I tell you where to solder. I didn't show it because I didn't do it well enough to be of help to you. It took me a few tries. Sorry if you didn't like it but no need for nastiness.

Ha. it's funny that I see this from time to time. Yes, you have to have the tools to do the work. I assume that MOST people that come and watch DIY videos have at least basic tools and equipment or the DIY part would seem out of reach. But just like all woodworking, maker, or DIY projects on KZbin, tools are required to do the task. Full disclosure, I had to buy the solder wick to do this project. I had the iron and solder. But it was still cheaper than a new mic even if I had to buy tools and all.
