Great review. I currently have the nano. Do you recommend the x over the nano? I need to get another mic for my sons virtual schooling and was wondering whether to get another nano for him or give him my nano and get an x for myself. Thanks.
@TheProvokedPrawn4 жыл бұрын
Personally I think the Nano is good enough and I kept mine over the X. But only because I do editing in post rather than live. If you need it for life the Blue Voice tech is handy.

The Provoked Prawn thank you very much for the reply it’s much appreciated. I’m just scrambling to get stuff since his school last minute decided to go virtual and class states next week. I do like the footprint of the nano. I just wish g hub supported it.

Had to RMA my Blue Yeti X. The live monitoring sounded TERRIBLE. After a few hours I had to stop using it and had to go back to my old headset just to hear proper sidetone again and feel better. I was about to have a stroke due to how bad it is......

How is the Yeti X compared the Hyper X Quadcast? I narrowed it down to these 2 mics. Which is your pick?
@TheProvokedPrawn4 жыл бұрын
I did a video comparing the Hyper X Quadcast to the Yeti Nano. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKezgJ-fgduGrsU though I haven't compared it to the Yeti X. You'd get a much more premium design with the Yeti X in terms of build quality and look, plus there's the added bonus of the Software. But the Quadcast does have the advantage of the shock mount and pop filter at no extra cost. They're both excellent microphones, the Quadcast is probably better value for money in terms of features.
@juicygeorge60764 жыл бұрын
@@TheProvokedPrawn i must disagree i owned the quadcast around 2 month ago and it was ok but not the best it felt cheep it was obviously metal but it had barely any weight to it and overall didnt seem premium

The Provoked Prawn Whoooa! So the voice over was you only using the Blue Yeti X? It sounds so good! I’ll be buying it soon! Thoughts? Also what settings? Thanks man!
@TheProvokedPrawn4 жыл бұрын
@@ZyphiriaIRL yeah I usually use a Yeti Nano but in this case it was probably the X. I likely did a little work on the normalisation and noise reduction in Audacity but nothing crazy. Settings for live audio are a personal thing I think. You really need to play around with it to get the best sound.

The Provoked Prawn Thanks, man! Last question! So I just refunded my blue Yeti because it was making a strange hissing noise. Almost like a background noise but it wasn’t and it still do it even if the microphone was muted. Once I purchase the Blue Yeti X if it starts doing that, what should I do to prevent it again?

The more reviews I watch about this mic the more apprehensive I become. When asked "Did you use this mic to record the video" a responce of "probably" is not very encouraging for potential consumers. This immediately raises suspicion to the accuracy of the review. Reviews, nowadays, are beging to feel more tailored than natural. Thank you for the video but in this case I will be avoiding this mic.

Thank you for your criticism. I generally use the mic I'm reviewing for the voice overs. I said might have said "probably" because the question was 2 months after I posted it and I couldn't remember.
