I was in Radio for 25 years before I walked away and the mic was everything. So were our Cans, if you couldn't hear yourself well you were wasting Airtime and money. Nobody likes a whiny voice. My Headphones were Senns sounded great cost lots like our studio mics did and ended up costing me most of my hearing. I liked it loud and paid the price. But I sounded good with my Baritone voice. It was fun, my Dad told me when I started I'd never make enough for a living. Well we raised 3 kids on that living and they all listened to me in the afternoons said I sounded smooth. Mics are everything they'll crush you, no one likes bad audio. It will get you turned off in a heartbeat. Great Video sorry for the long comment.

Yes, DEFINITELY add the 'Pop Filter' to those mics. They need them. Also use the Low-Cut filter on the ones which have them, to stop the low 'Thumping' in the sound popping and xplosives.
@djwavepad420
@djwavepad420 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct at a pop filter or to the way to get around it making those pops is don't talk directly into the mic have it at like a 90 degree angle or you're talking a little bit off access and it will prevent the popping noise

I can confirm that the Yeti Nano is a very affordable option, a good investment. I have used it for online classes, meetings, symposiums and even recording (for both my conference presentations and as a hobby). It is very simple to use, just plug in, and I have gotten several complements on how clear my voice sounded.

Honestly, I've been using the built-in mic from the H4, H4N and H6 for almost everything lately and holly crap do they sound amazing! Also, what makes the usb ones sound bad is the processing they do on them lol A microphone ALWAYS sounds better with less processing. I've done complete live mixes with drum kits not EQed at all. It's a matter of chosing the right mic and placing it right, that's all. I hate that manufacturers give apps like that that are just pure trash, it makes the mic sound so much worse than what comes out of the transformer. Anyway, great video, loved it! Good luck with those migraines!

Yeti X has just awfully horrible "smart knob", mixing manual and software setting options, which is hard to use in one step. The only advantage of this is rgb "circus" around the knob, which is not useful at all. Old Yeti has far better manual simple setting knob "what you push is what you see and this is what you get to hear". The sound is the same, due to Blue is using the same basic parts in both devices. The Sherpa software is nonsense, just a bunch of plugins for lame podcasters with the lack of knowledge of post-production process. It's not so useful as Rode connect, which allows you to connect more usb devices in one session with editing stuff. So, the review mady by the young crispy lady is the crapy youtuberish advertorial bullshit.

your content is such a thrill to watch. You cascade your contents with mixture of jubilation and segways...lol . I have a big question. Can you connect your blue yeti x to an ipad and at the same time use your airpod pro 2nd gen as your headphone? I am not a fan of the sound quality of the microphone from airpod pro 2nd gen. It still sounds like your regular joe cheap mic. Currently I am using the sony inzone h9 as my daily headphones when I do casual gaming on pc and Ipad. But even the sound quality of this expensive gaming headphones skimped out on the microphone as it is not great at all.

I will say as somebody who has used Blue Yeti Nano it's not the best microphone and if you're using a condenser microphone in an untreated room you usually get a lot of background noise I would always. Recommend a dynamic microphone like the Shure sm7b. It will take away that room noise at least for my voice I think the Blue Snowball sound better than the Blue Yeti Nano

I gave up on the Nano. When it's good, it's good. But there are many things that can be less than good if you're using it for more than voiceovers/podcasting/YT. It has many drawbacks if you use it for work/meetings. Also, using micro-USB sounds "handy", but it's an awful quality issue for a $100ish device. I always come back to my 10+-year-old BLUE Snowball (the white, textured one with 3 sound direction settings). I'm not sure you can still buy it. It's a grade above the Snowball ICE.

NEVER depend on the physical mute button on a microphone, unless you're sure the it is the only microphone your computer has access to. I did that not realising that Zoom decided to use my laptop's internal mic instead of the Yeti for some reason on a day with a staff meeting. Had something similar happen to coworker of mine as well, although his was less embarrassing.

Hello! Thanks for the great video. I'm saving this one for when I have to buy another microphone, for sure. :) What desk stand are you using for your boom arm? I've got the Rode PSA-1, and I'm using its clamp, but I have to clamp it to a very thin metal desk riser and it's a bit precarious, and awkwardly positioned. I'd love a heavy base I could just drop it into and move around as needed. Thanks, again!

blue is the first company I've ever saw with mics that requires a half and half treatment, half your room need to be treated and the other half does not need to be, it sounds very nice in open environment as well. We have things like the at2020 that sounds disguising in a none treated environment, and blue is just killing it, just note for the blue yeti and most of blues stuff you need to lower the high end in your eq because the high end is very sharp sounding to others ears. .
