This is the second home movie.
Tierney's Cottages where taken over by Bonnie Whittaker in the 1960's. She was a lovely lady and worked hard, each cottage had a row boat and you could get a put put boat. There was the small boatshed on the waterfront and the bridge going over to the island. Families had a wonderful time on the island sand beach swimming and lots of kids learned to swim there.
There was also some bits and pieces of a 'fairground' at the back of the Whitakers resident cottage that would operate in the January holidays and families would also walk up to the open air cinema with heaps of aerogard on to watch movies on the outdoor screen........what a great time we all had.
