There are many comments on the bed, please withhold judgement until you look at the updated version at 9:20 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5y8p6aHgr9-pck I have made many improvements, including putting the base on drawer slides and using magnets. Now less than 20 seconds to convert. My design goal was to have a sofa with a comfortable seating depth and height, and a queen size bed. I have never seen a futon or jack-knife sofa that has achieved this, they always need some pillows behind your back so you can sit up straight. Thanks for watching!

Been nice to see under sink and next to fridge storage space. Could you put tiny casters on the bottom cushion so the bed could roll out (another latch into floor to lock it in couch mode) All in all pretty tight build. How long could you stay on the lake with out going back to resupply? How far can you travel on a tank of gas? Maybe a trolling motor and battery for backup propulsion? thanks for sharing.
@DarrenEck6 жыл бұрын
Ron Smith , I plan on putting the bed on drawer slides, but I can't find the right size yet. I can stay on the lake as long as I want, we have a marina to fill the gas and propane, everything else runs on solar.

What is the rental, I'm not sure I heard you say, but nice little hose boat, by the way the people that are complaining about the bed are most likely people that don't camp or do out door things because I doubt they would have a problem I just don't understate are people so lazy now days they can't take 2 min to fold out a bed great vid good job on the house boat
@kjsfl3866 жыл бұрын
geoff nason No...the people mentioning the bed know of better ways to have a bed away from home. Or they want comfort since they're on vacation. Or they are trying to help him keep it rented by fine tuning his offering. It's an awesome boat and this IS the comment section.
@JJoy-bk8yr6 жыл бұрын
geoff nason It's because there are so many videos of home-built campers/vans/schoolies/etc that have a nifty system where the couch has tounge and groove slats under the seat. You grab the front of the couch and pull forward. Then you see how the slats are alternating - every other slat moves forward with the front of the couch while the rest stay in place. It's like telescope and becomes a queen bed frame in about 5 seconds. Use the back cushions to fill in the "mattress." That's why everyone is saying there are faster/easier systems; not to be mean, just give a helpful suggestion. (Btw, in most cases. before you expand the telescoping couch, you tilt it up and get the bedding out; that part is often the same.)

Geoff, what about seniors or disabled, back issues etc. etc. that want to rent a house boat. Spend time out in nature and the water to get a change from the humdrum. Are they lazy cause they would leave the bed up? I maybe right that your thinking no (at least I hope). Maybe people want to enjoy as much of the time they have outside. It did take a bit of time to put together and take down. I wouldn't want to have to do that everyday and no harm leaving it down (unless you vacay with more than two people).People that would leave the bed up are not necessarily lazy.
