Those wild blueberries are so beautiful. I love the varied sizes. It's so...rustic.

You're so lucky to have such an abundance of blueberries in your area. My grandmother used to pick wild berries in south-eastern Ontario (near Tweed). She told a story about a bear being nearby one time. I live in Toronto now and a small box of wild blueberries costs quite a bit when they're in season (maybe $8. for a pint, maybe more), so you're doing very well to have so many near you. Thanks for the videos.

Hi yoyomax12! Just wanted to pass on a note that I tried these! I had some blueberries in the freezer from a farm near my house (Kelowna, BC.) I'm not much of a baker but these turned out delicious. It was like a cross between a blueberry pie and oatmeal cookies- so much to love. The only thing I did differently was I omitted the orange zest and used whole wheat flour because I ran out of white. They were awesome! (Can't wait till breakfast, because that's undoubtedly what I'm having.) Thanks!

I actually live on a blueberry farm when I'm in Michigan for the summer, near the lake, so I'm sure I'll be making these soon! (: thanks much! so much northern love . ^-^

This was absolutely excellent! I used Strawberry (Southern Ontario Strawberries are the best, I think!) instead of Blueberry, and I substituted the sugars for their Sweetener versions (Granulated Splenda and Brown Sugar Splenda). It turned out simply divine and amazing. Thanks for posting this, and your videos are, as always awesome and fun to watch :)

I feel so badly for Joshua. Some people can be so ignorant & truly have nothing better to do with their lives than to cause pain to others. It's sad that these people can be this way, but they must have issues in their own lives that they feel the need to take it out on innocent people. But anyway, I loved the intro, Joshua!!! :) Made me and my 3 year old son smile. Thank you for that, don't let anyone bring you down.

yummm .the blueberry topping looks legit!

I would defrost them and let them drain to get rid of excess liquid. The only thing that could go wrong by using them is that the filling may be less thick when you cook it and you may have to add a bit more cornstarch. A runnier filling in this would be okay though and would still taste good
@yoyomax1212 жыл бұрын
Strawberries have a higher water content and you may have to reduce the orange juice and/or increase the amount of cornstarch, if it won't thicken enough.

The blueberry buyers here are paying about $7-8 a quart for blueberries from local pickers. Wow, that is some kind of mark up!! No wonder there are so many blueberry buyers in my town, they must be making a fortune selling them down south. I saw the wedding photos on facebook, very nice.

those are so pretty! your theme song is one of my 'jams'. mike poked fun at me for singing it while i was doing the floors yesterday. he wondered why i was singing it while i did the floors and not while i was cooking. i then made up a lovely song for him, it included many 'fresh' words, none of them rhymed but i got my point across ;) *disclaimer* mike was just playing around, he knows i will always cook for him. i dislike people in 'my' kitchen :) xoexo

Hahahahahaaha - the blueberry picking sequence brought back memories. We used to cottage around Kirkland Lake/Matachewan when I was growing up. It was always blueberry season when we holidayed and we always went blueberry picking. Storebought ones are bland and tasteless - there's NO comparison. I also remember how secretive blueberry pickers are - they NEVER let you know exactly where their secret spot is! ;p
