Bought this for my e39 about 4 months ago and it’s been great. The additional features like the auto blinker is so useful

I like how your trunk struts make the chewbacca noise, too.

Lol, I thought it was just my son's that made that noise.

Can you tell me if you can skip music through the buttons on the steering wheel on the e39? I am looking into getting it for my car and I'm wondering if it has this feature.

Looks promising still few questions: - is it showing on mid or navi who is calling, caller id - name from contacts? I had to live with grom usb2 witch shows caller name on mid but no metadata over bt, now I've changed it with grom usb3 witch shows metadata whatever is playing over bt but no caller name - just number. (I've used same bt module on both grom units) - One more thing, I don't have that tel button voice button mapped as siri button on my steering wheel on my e39 2001 so how can i answer an incoming call, and how can I decline a call, how to activate siri without "hey siri" with my phone locked on the pocket - on grom I have sc press twice for voice dial -siri activation with locked phone, up button for answer an incoming call and down button for rejecting a call - does buebus have these things is it a similar implementation for these?

What is a GROM unit? I don't seem to have that. This area in my E46 has a lot more stuff and I am having a hard time understanding what to unplug from where. I have both a nav and the six disc changer. None of the other installation videos make it very clear and I can't find written ones or diagrams.

I just bought one the other day and I just thought it was going to be Bluetooth and phone. Didn’t realize it had blinker settings and the buttons on the car worked too. It’s coming in next month so it’s sucks that I have to wait, but I am super excited to finally not have to listen to radio stations or cds anymoreZ

There's even more features coming, after I get these units shipped out -- Ted, The BlueBus guy.

Thanks for the review! Does it continuously scroll through the track date or can you turn that off?

does it have caller ID?

I hope this is still a live thread! Does this unit allow you to listen to FM while connected and able to receive and make calls or does it only stick to the bluetooth input? Will it automatically shift between the current setting and the bluetooth setting when a call comes in or a voice prompt from phone navigation is sent like with standard bluetooth units. I'm most interested in handsfree calling and navigation prompts while listening to FM.
@tass20012 жыл бұрын
The BlueBus allows you to listen to whatever mode you'd like, AM, FM, CD (the single slot) or Tape (if no CD slot). When a call or Navigation update comes in, the BlueBus will automatically pipe that in (this is pretty standard for all Bluetooth modules). If the radio is off, or you're in AM/FM/CD/Tape, the BlueBus will then use some magic to switch the car into "call" mode and the call will interrupt your other audio source. The main thing is: If you're in FM mode, you won't get Navigation prompts UNLESS your Maps app supports prompts over "HFP" (Hands Free Protocol).

Pretty cool! Hopefully they have them for older P-cars as well. Which btw, when are you dipping your toe into that brand? 😁

Great, short, and informal video! I was thinking about this for my 01' 540i for a long time now, I love the old Bimmers but I gotta have some kind of hands free. Speaker phone on my knee isn't working anymore, any darn corner and my phone is under the seat... :/

I can’t believe the grom unit worked for you. I had so bad quality from the audio…it wast bearable! Is the audio improved? Concerned about the distance and interference coming from trunk. A currently have a Bluetooth unit installed in the glovebox
@tass20012 жыл бұрын
Sound quality is unmatched because cost wasn’t a concern when sourcing the audio output stage. However, some cars have noise inherent to their electrical systems (well, mostly due to failed/failing rectifier diodes in the alternators voltage regulator), but that can be filtered out using a ground loop isolator. Install in the trunk is really not a concern in terms of other interference though.

@@tass2001 I currently have a Dice Electronics with Bovee 1000.. and I get light static noise when no music is playing. Does this mean I will likely get the same interference when using the BlueBus?

@@Sylverlee - Is it a clicking noise that you're hearing, or does it change with engine RPM?
@Sylverlee9 ай бұрын
@@tass2001 it’s just static noise. It sounds like its amplifying too much. I don’t think it varies with engine speed

Sound like a great option! Do you need to press the input button on the radio to work the BlueBus bluetooth? Have an oem radio on my E86 with only on and off button working.
@tass20013 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you'll need a working MODE button. The radios are inexpensive on eBay :)

I checked the site. Hopefully they make it compatible with the e90...🙏🏼
@tass20014 жыл бұрын
The E90 is a MOST-bus vehicle, which is completely different than the old I-Bus in the E46, etc. I think the OE "Combox" is a good choice for BT streaming in MOST-bus cars :)
I've got a 2011 328i Cabrio w/Bluetooth, however, it won't connect and stream Pandora. I can make and rec'v calls via Bluetooth, I can play music from KZbin, however, when I attempt to connect to Pandora I get a msg that shows 'Pandora two arrows and BMW'. Any suggestions on an app that I can download or a fix?
@tass20014 жыл бұрын
That's a completely different car with a whole different Bluetooth kit. You probably have the ComBox. I'd google that :)
