The older 2002s had the turn signal on the right side as it should be. You’re going to take your right hand off the wheel to shift anyway.

Only if your car had the winter package it would have the heated nozzles and door lock. Though he didn't mention the BC on the signal lever, some people don't know if you push it in (from the side) it will give you different displays; time, outside temp, estimated miles left on fuel, avg mph, and avg mpg. While displaying MPG you can push the S/R button to display current MPG.
@kazababis
@kazababis 6 жыл бұрын
R and L are for parking lights. If your engine is off and you push the signals lever further than normal then position light will turn on at the direction you pushed the lever. For example if you push the lever upwards further than the position that activates your right signal then right headlight and backlight will turn on

There's this really cool thing all cars come with. It's called an owner's manual. All this and MUCH MORE is right in there. For instance, if your car came with a key with a dead battery? The car charges the key's battery when you drive with it in the ignition.

Those weird blinking orange lights are kinda useless. I see them on other brands of cars as well. I notice them most when people have the left light blinking then pull to the right across the front of me. BMW has a special button for that too in the middle of the steering wheel that makes a loud trumpet noise at the offending parties.

My e36 will works perfectly for a month then something random happens. Yesterday my brake light bulb fell in the light casing. That was a pain in the but. A couple weeks before my check engine came on cuz gas caps. Before that my transistor thing for the fans to work went out. They are definitely a project, need constant work (which is part of the fun) normally just smaller stuff nothing that prevents it from getting u from a to b. In that aspect they are pretty reliable but to keep it at 100% working is constant maintenance 126k on my 323is e36

Cool feature ? come on man, even Diablo had the tools in a little bag(yellow ofc with the lambo badge on it, but still, it was a bag), the e36 had them hidden in the trunk door hanging upside down defying gravity like tiny spiderman wrenches. Oh, and i just remembered another one you missed, when you lower the sun...covers??shades???(dont remember how they're called in english) and you slide the cover of the mirror so you can look at your pretty face, the moment you slid that cover open, a little light right next it lit your pretty face so you do no mistake refreshing your make up, yes, for both of the front sits! (and i mention that it was for both seats, cause in a volvo s40 i had, only the passengers sit had a mirror, implying that me, the alpha male is driving the car, while the female companion next to me refreshes herself using the mirror, and on the contrary, my buddy drives a chevrolet matiz, and it actually has a mirror only for the driver's seat, implying that it is meant to be driven by women,) oh fuck im rumbling again

It works on all OBD2 e36 models. Remember when you get to 15 you hold down the press, not a push, then a press. I had to try a few times before I got it to work as well. So you push for 14, then push and stay holding for 15. That should bring up the LOCK.

Spray WD 40 in the key locks, and ignition. Do this when it’s warm out and wiper the excess off. This will prevent your locks from freezing and it’ll clean it all out. I’ve done this for over 10 years it won’t screw up anything. Also if your keys are very worn order a new key. The worn key will just wear out your locks. Also on old cars like these or any car. Order yourself a nice Coverkraft sun windshield cover. This will protect your dash and keep your car a lot cooler inside. The oem Bmw one is made by Coverkraft as well.

You have to bridge certain pins together in the 20pin under the hood on an e36.

Also the turn signal stick has a hidden feature. I don't remember exactly how but as I remember one has to "force it" left or right or if you prefer to say up or down to put the signal light permanently on to the specific side. (usually handy when parking on the side of the road). and as I know this is available on many cars if not most of cars.

It's pretty normal speed for an e36. Yeah that's cool! A couple friends with e9x's have coded theirs as well.

I had a 328i E36 coupe with midnight blue metallic paint and white leather interior back in the day. I bought it for £1000 in need of some tlc. The same car now would be 3k upwards. They are going up and up in value over the years. If fuel prices calm back down I may get another before they become too rare...

I love the hidden features...thx Question: not sure if you are familiar with E36 323i convertible, is it possible you might go over trouble shooting convertible issues. Specifically when putting top down it disconnects from windshield but then stops and getting rapid clicking noise. I would appreciate it...thx again

Todd Hartmayer I myself only have e39's, but that doesn't stop me from trying to help What you have really sounds like a gear that is stripped. The motor tries to turn the gear, but as it is missing teeth, the motor gear sort off catches hold of it and then looses grip, which makes a clicking noise. Does the sound stop after a while or do you need to stop it manually?
