Nathan Punay Why isn’t he playing set anymore?
@ChrisM-dx8up6 жыл бұрын
Nathan Punay is that not for finals because they aren’t allowed to use a met? Or whenever there’s a show you can’t use a loud speaker met roger plays drum set ( I think )
@malditobandito986 жыл бұрын
SoyLeroy2003 Its for SOME lots. He's played with the set in San Antonio before. I'm also surprised as to why he hasn't been playing with the set for show music.
@DisDatK96 жыл бұрын
I think the set was more for making sure the line was grooving well with the show beats, since 2016 and 2017 were a lot more groovy than 2018. Which isn’t a bad thing, if they did the same style of show this year I think people would start getting tired of it.

Why do groups play to the side edge and not top or bottom edge? There can't be a sound or distance difference if you're already playing in the center of the drum and visually I think playing to the side every time is distracting.
@sagedelaney28136 жыл бұрын
the side is where the snares on the bottom of the head are. its called the gut. When you play on that plane, you get more snare response vs. the top of the head
@dustindaugherty85786 жыл бұрын
@@sagedelaney2813 thanks for the reply but I can't see how this would make a discernable difference
@sagedelaney28136 жыл бұрын
@@dustindaugherty8578 yeah its not a huge difference. Depending on how the drums are tuned, if you play at the front edge, it will sound more like a tom, without the snare sound. Its a subtle difference, but I guess its an important thing to groups at that high of a level.

Go up to the lots! Just keep a respectable distance (at least behind the techs). An audience really makes the players hyped and groove, especially if the audience gets into it.

DrummerBoy Gabe I think who you’re talking about isn’t the same guy as the one in the video. There was a dude who marched BDB back in 2013, then BDA in 2014, which was his age out year. I don’t know his name but he looks really similar to the center quad in the video.

The only thing I think hurts Bluecoats with drums is there is a loose vibe they give off, which I like by the way. They are often just as tight as a SCV but SCV is a little more militaristic. They have a mirror image down the line. Again, I love the Bluecoats drumming but I think the judges will always reward that old school look. (Side note: to hell with the judges.)
