to me this is still one of the best drum line till this day. The toning is godly, the writing is meaty while being musical. the line is clean most of the time and you can just tell they are enjoying themselves. they are all badass that can take care of business and still be funny and weird with the vocal and stuff.

No. They upped the tempo a slight bit for their ending but trombo concerto isn't this fast. And yeah the line has to keep slighlty ahead of the tempo because it needs time to echo. So it sounds sped up.

That is patently false. Dirty lines will sound dirty, it doesn't matter if they are playing on rope drums. The only thing that hides dirt is playing together.

Furthermore, do you really think that Jeff Prosperie, Alan Kristensen, and the like are so dense that they cannot hear dirt on any line regardless of tuning? Tuning the drums wet (not low) may hide some dirt from far away (say, the press box), but for a professional judge the caliber of Prosperie or Christiensen, who are right on top of the line, no mistake escapes. Enough with the "hiding dirt" conspiracy. I hate to sound harsh, but we heard enough of that garbage with Phantom '06-'10, all five of which were some of the finest lines to grace the field in the past ten years.
