Very interesting talk. I guess "The Men from the Ministry" reference would be lost on younger audiences. It's the name of an old radio comedy series with Derek Guyler and Richard Murdoch as bungling Whitehall civil servants. They refer to each other as Number 1 and Number 2. Fnur fnur eh, youngsters? Catch it occasionally on Radio 4Extra in the UK.
