I learned a very important lesson after the 2004 Hurricane season, a cloth hand towel soaked in cool or cold, your choice, draped on the back of your neck becomes a whole body air conditioner. A lineman working to restore our power after 5 weeks taught me this trick, he was from Delaware I think, part of the emergency crews that came down here. Gabe, I swear this works, just a simple wet cloth on your neck is air conditioning for your entire body. I know people who do this while mowing their lawns too.

Man I know the feeling of this Florida heat. I played in this heat with 40 lbs of equipment on and rarely got dehydrated in my 20s. I got that same dizziness you felt in the video watering my garden last week. I’m south of you but we get the same sun and getting older in this heat is nothing to play with. When it's really hot and you're really thirsty, chilled water can make your throat cramp up. When we were in Nayarit we would keep some of our water bottles out of the cooler. They'd get really warm, but you could chug the warm water when you needed to rehydrate fast.

Fun fact of the day from your Canadian neighbor! The first ever Ski-Doo (snowmobile) was launched in 1959 as a new invention created by Joseph Armand Bombardier. The original name was Ski-Dog, but a typographical error in a Bombardier brochure changed the name Ski-Dog to Ski-Doo. Bombardier continued on to also make wave runners called "Sea-doo's" to keep the tradition going from that little mistake 😉👌

Hey Gabe, Hi, my name is Daniel Balderas from Louisiana. I have a suggestion that you put trailer tongue locks for security and no one can steal your boats
@canucklehead02 жыл бұрын
I was getting a tad nervous as you brought the Sailfish into the boat, you can tell by your speaking that you were being affected by the heat, and then you said you felt dizzy and nauseous and I thought good, at least he realizes he's in trouble, and then the other boat pulled in and I felt better knowing there were other people who could see you. Heat stroke is about as serious as any of the other big causes of death. I was 20 working as a roofer on my summer off from college and one day after about 3 days of constant 100F degree days I went to my truck to eat lunch as it was parked in the shade, I felt dizzy and a bit sick and lay down across the bench seat. I remember my Foreman's face looking serious and scared and then an Ambulance/EMT Lady asking my name and to stay awake and then waking up in a hospital bed. Heat Stroke, and to this day 34 yrs later anything over 30C/90F and I don't feel well. I wear an Oil Skin Wide Brimmed Hat, like an Australian Outback Hat and I have a bandana with a flexible ice pack built in to wear around your neck. The ice pack is supposed to cool the blood going to your brain and keep you from stoking out from the heat. You might wish to consider these fashion tips for future hot days. I know you're a Floridian but, just like a Canadian can get hypothermia, a Floridian can still get heat stroke. Please be mindful, Sir. It's too bad that Sailfish was gut hooked but I knew you wouldn't let the meat go to waste. I've never had Sailfish, is it more Tuna-like for taste, or more like a Mahi-Mahi? Sure was a pretty fish too! Jake's doing a fine job operating the camera, he's been getting much better as the years go by. Next time you go looking at Cameras be sure to take Jake with you so he can learn and try out the selections with you. I worked in television production and news for almost 22 years and I got into that from my enjoyment of photography. Best of luck hunting Elk in Colorado, are you planning to Bow hunt or Rifle hunt?
