For the garden....Neem oil spray every few day! Florida is rough and the bugs come through in waves. Companion plants are also very important, they help to pull away some of the pests from the garden, for example: marigolds. Find ways to create and environment that invites the predatory bugs in, lady bugs, lace wings etc. They all have different plants that they prefer. It takes time and patience to really learn what works best for your space, but the goal is to kinda mimic the “perfect balance of nature” hope this helps and good luck!!!

Neem is good! I also use soap like castle soap as a insecticide...Mix it with water and use a sprayer to apply it. Now it does not work well on squash bugs.

Ive been working a garden since 1974 and when the bugs start eating my plants i use Sevin, you can get it in a concentrate that mixes with water or you can also use the powder form. Always worked great for me. Should be able to buy at any Lowes or Home depot.

Gabe , you and Kelly make such a great team in all aspects of everyday life and especially with the boys. To have both of you with many of the same things in common the boys benefit tremendously. Being in the outdoors hunting and fishing they will always remember stuff like that . I applaud you both for being such great parents even if Kelly isn’t a biological mother she sure does a wonderful job at being one. You guys are great 👍🏻

For the garden- Neem oil, diatomaceous earth(food grade) and yes, Dawn soap in water. It's harder to control a bad infestation with organics, though. It's better to catch them early. There are some organic pest controls commercially available if you check with garden centers and online.

Hey Gabe, been following your channel for a while but this is my first comment. I'm watching this from the southern Caribbean and we've got all kinds of pests here. I started backyard farming about 2 years ago and slowly learned the tricks the hard way. I've finally built a shadehouse with heavy duty 50% UV shadecloth to mitigate sun and keep the large pests (iguanas, locust etc) out. Will no doubt protect against hail too! Small stuff (aphids, whiteflies etc) that pass through the mesh i control with home made organic neem oil spray once-twice a week. Works perfectly. Organic, safe and non-toxic. Wishing you all the best!

There's a product called Safer Soap that you mix up in a pest sprayer and hit your vegetables with every couple of days. It repels bugs and it's completely non-toxic. It works amazing, but it does take some effort since you need to do it about twice a week.

It’s not a natural process though so by default it’s got to be less than ideal for growing. Pests normally only bother with plants that have already had some kind of compromising weakness or damage. Build a good soil rich with microfauna and you’ll be laughing whilst the pests are crying. Don’t be lulled into spraying crops.... not never, even organically approved sprays can do harm... alternatively you could go for the pest vs lesser pest ideal.... say for example you have aphids.... get some ladybirds.... or plant a more aphid desirable plant next to the plant you want to get the pests off.... the pests would soon migrate to their more favoured plant.. I’ve heard of people intercropping nettles with salad greens to deter pests from the main crop.

Hey Gabe, I live in west texas and hate spiders! I gardened for the first time last year and not wanting to use chemicals I tried the spider trick of Peppermint. I mixed it 50/50 peppermint/water. I used natures natural supply if ladybugs, lizards and towards the end of the season a large toad appeared. I sacrificed some tomatoes to the lizards and toads, but never had an issue with pests or spiders. I'm not sure it will work in the humidity of Florida , but might be worth a try! I will be doing it again this year too! Plus, Plus! The garden smells LOVELY😁

I'll watch yours and Kelly's videos no matter what. The best way too keep out bugs is with a sealed green house with filters on the fans and have clean clothes and shoes when you go in it. You can use organic all natural Neem oil on plants to get rid of a lot of bugs, you would have to check exactly which ones. You can get bug resistant strains of most plants. Great video as always!
