Great video Gabe. Tip: when deep-frying, listen for the sizzle. The fish will sizzle fast and hard and then suddenly the sizzle drops to more of a percolate. That's when all of the water is cooked out of the meat and that's the prime time to get the fish out of the oil. Works for anything deep-fried, chicken, turkey, etc.

Bluegabe, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. Please allow me to explain. I lost my dad a little more than ten years ago, he was quite literally the most ingenious fisherman of all time, and catfishing was our favorite thing to do together. We would get there at nightfall and set up camp just offshore from the delta. I would set up the chairs and eventually when I was older, the beer cooler as well. We would fish all night long and he always filled his leaders. This one time when they weren't biting, not even with WD-40 sprayed on the bait. So he took a flashlight, turned it on. He then put it in a freezer bag with a rock and tossed it into the middle of the delta. Within the span of no more than five min, he brought in his first of many catfish. I brought in a few as well. He would have loved your soda bottle trick and would have been obsessed with it for months. I watched with tears of joy streaming down my eyes. Thank you so very much for the flashback.

My wife’s 90 year old granddad got one of those game cameras a couple years ago and loves it and checks it every other day. I borrowed my cousins big foot costume over Christmas break and walked out in front of that camera doing Bigfoot stuff. So a couple days later when he was going through the camera and saw the pictures he called the game warden and the local sheriff. Needless to say he was pretty pissed off at me for embarrassing him but that shit was funny as hell.

Great video.ive been using 2 liters for years.write line length on bottle.way easier than noodles.you can wrap line around bottle and just slide hook underneath line.plus for night fishing just throw a glow stick and some beads inside,well without liquid in them and now you have sound to hear and the light to find them.

I used to eat those things as long as there was more to throw in the steamer or even better, on damp burlap right over the hot coals of a fire pit. They taste even better on burlap over hot coals because they literally simmer in their own juices inside the shell.

I've said this before under other videos on Gabe's channel: I LOVE Alabama........all of my people on my Dad's side have been living in north Alabama going back generations. I've lived in Florida mostly since 1969, when I was 7 yrs old......but I also lived in Alabama for a total of 5 yrs and always vacationed up there. I may move back up there when I retire. In GA we call it "jugging" guess that is universal, (use to use bleach jugs years ago)...still gotta have the right bait on the hook no matter what soft drink you are serving with it. You will get really big ones with southern style sweet tea! Cats love cut bait as well as live shad, shiners or minnows.

Wish I had known y'all were in my neck of the woods....I would have come on over and said hello. Used to hunt with the holder clan at ft.rucker back in the day. I'm sure he is part of that family. Never had much luck jug fishing. I remember watching one of my bottles get straight sunk for about 30 seconds and it floated back up with a broken line. I was using 50 lb test in a pond. Must have been a big ass catfish
