Man that was the perfect spot to fish .👍 You hit the jackpot on that one . I glad you understand not to abuse the fishery and only take what you need and leave the rest for another day . That recipe looked awesome minus the hot peppers . Haha 😁

I always hit the light button before I even watch Your videos. Because I know it's going to be good.. This was a dream day of fishing. I'm not much of a spicy food eater. But that looked delicious. Stay safe, and God bless you always.

That was some beautiful perch my brother, my son would lose his mind catching them that big. Like always another awesome video and by the way I have never seen bluegill cooked that way but I guarantee I will try it if I could just catch bluegill big enough, lol. Loved it as always brother and God bless.

I'm in East Texas. I actually live on lake Livingston. Unfortunately there are not many bluegills or Red ears in this lake. I usually have to drive up to Texas state park in Huntsville TX. They have a lot of bluegills and Red ears in lake Raven at the state park. A lot of them are the size your pulling out there. I don't fillet my Bluegill however. I scale them, head them and gut them. I put about three vertical slashes down both sides and also down the back bone to the tail. This way the breading and seasoning goes all the way to the bone. They cook quicker and more crispy plus scoring the sides and backbone like I described. Allows you to pull virtually boneless chunks of meat from the whole fish. Plus you also get the pleasure of eating those crispy tails and fins. As a boy I had to fight with my three brothers to get my fair share of the crispy tails. Eating your fish on the bone along with the skin has so much more flavor than a fillet will. Plus it slows everyone down and opens up more opportunity for conversation and quality family time. Much better than everyone stuffing their food into their mouths as fast as possible. If anyone is worried about the small bones of the sunfish. Just let them know nobody has ever been seriously hurt by swallowing a small fish bone and keeping a small stack of buttered bread on the table is exactly for such accidents. One good bite of buttered bread will take care of any bones that anyone might accidentally swallow and those bones desolve easily in your stomach. And like I said. You just can't beat the treat of eating those crispy tails and fins. I wouldn't eat Sunnie's any other way. Which lake are you fishing in this video?
@txrex Жыл бұрын
I live near Livingston, I cook brim on the bone all the time, you can see it on my previous video! This is lake Conroe.

Is shad good eatin? Do a catch n cook?
@txrex Жыл бұрын
Believe it or not.. threadfin Shad can be eaten a lot like sardines.. which I’ve tried and actually enjoyed, lots of bones but they are soft, caramelized and eaten with rice.. but when I mentioned the Shad spawn it means the predator fish are active and wanting to feed on Shad.
