HonestLy I’ve found that if you take a leaf and tear it in the shape of a bug gills will eat it, but I use trout magnets

the meat in the tail of the shrimp works very well. caught probably 10-12 bluegill ranging from 2 inches in length to about 8 all with shrimp tail meat

One time I put grass and I caught a bunch. Another time I left bread at the house and I found a cigarette bud on a deck. I used it. I caught not a bunch but enough to use for live bait.

I just walk up and down my fishing pier till i find a nice little puddle of yuck and just rub the hook in it 👍 got a nice little blob of viscera and its perfect. Also if u find a little fish head or something, a bug or lizard. Also works with a little chunk of wood off the pier or whatever i can stick on the hook for a little more substance can potentially catch one of these little morons. they compete for food in their schools so they hit before thinking Its gotta be small, the yuck puddle may not be necessary depending on what u find but it usually helps me, its just a scent. Sibikis rigs just use that plastic for example. Any of that should work. You can catch that first piece of bait with total bullshit and cut him up instead for proper bait.
