This is awesome; thank you for this! I almost can't believe that's Sammy Bush over there--he's so young & skinny! Good stuff!

Back in the days of my childhood In the evening when everything was still I used to sit and listen to the foxhounds With my dad in the old Kentucky hills I'm on my way back to the old home The road winds on up the hill But there's no light in the window That shined long ago where I live Soon my childhood days were over I had to leave my old home For dad and mother were called to heaven I's left in this world all alone High in the hills of old Kentucky Stands the fondest spot in my memory I'm on my way back to the old home The light in the window I long to see

@cabowen21 It is Johnathan Yudkin. Played with Doug Dillard for a while in the 80's, also with John Hartford sometimes on the road, and with Kathy Mattea. Buddy Davis

@jackazzzzable The banjo kickoff is a straight as you can get...The 2nd banjo break is just a little up the neck work. Very straight forward scruggs stuff.

My guess would be ca. 1990, based on the hair and ambiance - whatever that means.

Just looked this up based on the Rowan's referral to his new record, and looks like I nailed it, 1990. Yay me.

Everyone seems to talk about the pickers, their flashy breaks and their outfits. I'm ok with that, but I wanna say something, too: Peter Rowan owns them all, period. Grow up and maybe you'll get to know what it's all about. Cheers to all bluegrass fans!
