Lovely! I also have to say I really appreciate how your videos are shot and edited. I just cannot look at ones that move around a lot (terrible head and eye pain from ones like that!) or ones that have lots of fancy editing at the expense of simplicity and clarity and stillness. Keep up the great work Victoria & Henry & thanks, as always.

A very masterful work with the inner chi in producing a work of art! I truly enjoyed watching you execute this technique. Thank you Henry Li! I want to learn but I’m not sure what tools, paper, etc. I need to begin, even the magnetic board is an interesting tool as well. Would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

can this kind of art be done on an easel? can it be done on a paper where you don't need to turn it over and wet it etc? thanks for the upload/tutorial
@blueheronarts4 жыл бұрын
I have paint them on easel as well and you need not to turn it over to paint.

What would happen if you painted this painting using the same inks and brushes etc but painted it on water colour paper? Would it look the same?
@blueheronarts5 жыл бұрын
No it is not the same because WC paper is hard sized, not as absorbent as the rice paper.
@jasminflower38145 жыл бұрын
Ok, thank you Henry for answering my question. That is great ;-) I will keep watching your videos and I might buy some rice paper and try it one day.

Do I have to use felt or can I use some other type of material? Maybe a towel?
@blueheronarts4 жыл бұрын
A blanket will do but not towel, because it is not supposed to be too absorbent.

荆溪白石出, 天寒红叶稀。 山路元无雨, 空翠湿人衣。 In the Mountains by Wang Wei of the Tang Dynasty White stones have emerged in the little stream. A few red leaves are hung. The days are growing cold. No rain has fall'n on the mountain paths, but whew, The bright green air to the garments seem to hold! ( trans. by Wang Baotong)
@j.cocteau69454 жыл бұрын
@@blueheronarts thank you for the text and translation, highly appreciated! I was curious about this line you added 'on the mountain trail, actually no rain, only the green, that wet my clothing'. Is this part of the extension of the poem or is this your take of the poem? I am really interested as I am an artist myself and would find this very useful. Looking forward to your response. Thank you
@blueheronarts4 жыл бұрын
@@j.cocteau6945 It's a language question. You can find many versions of translation form the same poem. I tend to render it word to word and keep the imagery feel of the poem.
