Delap: We should only sign him, if Nkunku leaves. He also fits Maresca's striker profile. Two problems though, 1: He wont come cheap. 2: Guiu's gametime will suffer if he doesn't go on loan. Mainoo: Not necessary as we have a better all round payer in Santos. Recall Santos and send Casadei over to Strasbourg to get gametime. Guehi: No point buying him. We want to splash 50-70mill on a player we know will set us back in PSR. Josh Acheampong is class. Trust him and Anselmino. Recall Chalobah if the situation is too dire. We should sell KDH, Felix and Disasi. Anselmino can fill in Disasis position, Recall Chalobah to replace KDH and finally, buying Delap to replace Felix will give Nkunku a chance to play in a 10 role. Only deal that makes sense is that of Delap.

@fjsizzla5340 Felix may know how to run and dribble, but his end product has always been his problem. He doesn't score or assist consistently. Nkunku on the other hand isn't much of a runner or presser or anything like that. But the guy can score goals... I'd gladly have a more dangerous Nkunku in the final third than a Felix who dribbles all the way to the goal post and misses. Fancy tricks with no output = Felix.

Recall Chalobah and get a striker on loan. Then wait till end of the season to evaluate their performance before making a decision. We are too quick to sign players without evaluating, if they fit into our style of play. That’s why we end up signing a player and already put them up for sale after 6 months/ a season. That’s a reckless way of building a squad. We need to be patient and not sign just anyone like Disasi, Koulibaly, KDH, Sterling & Co

They managed to get Neto and Sancho on the last day of the previous window so I wouldn't put anything past them. That was brilliant business. Mainoo in a Sancho like deal would be great business as Lavia is injury prone. Ipswich must have Delap to stay up and they just spent 20mil on a winger so they must be planning to stay up. A new winger on very high wages doesn't make sense. Moving on discontents like Nkunku, pure profit players like Chalobah, and some squad players to raise funds makes sense. The current squad may not get a top 4 spot so a strengthening is required. It is going to be fun to watch the deals these guys will generate.

We barely have the eight required homegrown players for a full squad with Sánchez (who nobody wants, despite the fact he's overperforming this season), Bergström and Bettinelli left in, James who's broken and Dewsbury-Hall who isn't good enough so everyone wants him gone already. What are the plans if we secure UCL football this season? What about when all the youngsters we bought have been loaned to Strasbourg so they can't become homegrown, but they're no longer U21 and take up squad spots?

​@@RL- The academy is a cash cow. Most will be loaned or sold. UCL players can also be bought in the summer. There are a lot of squad and non-squad players who need to be moved on. I expect Chelsea to be a revolving door for the foreseeable future.

Academy players aren't given long enough to establish themselves in the first team in order to demand the kind of money we need to compensate for all of the waste. We don't have Abrahams, Hudson-Odois, Mounts, Tomoris and Gallaghers anymore. So what happens when we have no more "pure profit" players? Do we sell Colwill and James next? Are we going to sell U18s for one million a pop? Or do we take a loss on all of the failures who aren't homegrown or academy players instead? Because you can only have 17 non-homegrown over 21s in a squad, and most of the kids we've bought in recent years won't have homegrown status due to arriving too late or being loaned to foreign countries.

Not keen on mainoo, don’t understand it when we have 3 midfielders coming in next season, santos, estavao willian, Kendry Paez.
