Hi. How are you? I just discovered your channel last night after searching for Teddy Ruxpin. I have to admit I am impressed with your collection. I also admire your ability to rescue non working bears, as well as having all the accessories to go with the bears. I collect 80s toys myself, but unfortunately I don't have a Ruxpin yet. I'm looking for one in need of repair and I will use your videos as a reference. Hey luv. I have my Teddy, Grubby, Teddy outfits and almost all the tapes. The problem I have is that the felt pads in the tapes have fallen off and now will not work. Do you know where I could find repair pads so I can get my Teddy up and running again? At one time, you could find repair kits for these tapes all over the place. But now, forget it.

@stephysoda I was able to copy the tapes to wave and mp3 format. I did this by using a Standard tape player connected to the pc on LINE IN with the BASS and Treble and Equalizers turned off. Use Audacity to capture the sound. Then depending what volume setting you used and if the tapes are not wrecked or worn while copying. You can play them back on the pc or Ipod or any mp3 player that supports headphones and a Cassette adapter with the holes drilled in place like the original tapes were.

@Twilight101cp Including the two stuffed plush Teddies, exactly 20! I think that, because both my parents are collectors, that's why they accepted all the "toys" in the house quicker than most people would. You can tell your parents I say they're a timeless investment =)

I've ordered myre Teddy Ruxpin tapes, one of which is love songs, but I'm only getting the book and tape, not the outfit. One thing to be aware of with that French Teddy Ruxpin video tape is it's in the European PAL format. Your VCR will be an NSTC machine, assuming you have one of course, it may not play PAL tapes, so be aware of that if you plan to watch that tape, it may not play correctly.

Wow, what a collection. I was going to ask if you had a Yes Teddy ruxpin. I don't know for sure, but I may be getting one of those from someone who's had one on hold for me for the past few years until she finds the tape for it. If I get it I'll have to find more tapes, do you know how many tapes were available for the Yes Teddy Ruxpin? Can you please talk about the differences between the 2 Big Bird toys? Are you going to upload any videos of Big Birt?

If you have all the tapes, you could digitize them so we could all have copies. But you'd need to include the data tracks as well.

@Lachlant1984 I'm not sure exactly how many were released for him, but I'm sure there weren't a lot. Yes! went under just after his release so I'm sure there weren't that many. I'll get to the Big Birds eventually. The Ideal one has something wacky going on with his on/off switch. I'm too nervous to put batteries and a tape in him until I have that fixed.

@blueoctopede That's a pitty about the damage to Teddy Ruxpin, I'm sure it would be possible for someone to replace the battery terminals with good ones, let's just hope there not too much more damage to the toy. As for your promised video, I'm really looking forward to and anticipating it a lot, I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

@silverthehedgielover Have you ever seen those machines- they're filled with stuffed animals and you have to use a claw to pick one up? In Japan, they're called UFO Catchers, and the claw is shaped like a UFO. They're easier to win stuffed animals from, too. Sonic came from one of those.

@blueoctopede If this is true about the BackPack Toy version of Teddy Ruxpin no longer being available then I think that's very sad, I only hope I can get mine fixed after I carelessly broke it. As you know there was very little software available for it, I was hoping they'd release more software, but at this point I doubt that will happen. I wonder if we'll see yet another version of Teddy Ruxpin in the future.

@Lachlant1984 Unfortunately he was ruined when the house flooded... whichever big storm hit just before Katrina. He had been on the bottom shelf and it rusted up his battery compartment. I want to send him off to get him fixed, but I don't have any money at the moment ^^' And thanks! I'm glad you've been enjoying them! One thing I'll add is I don't have my Grubby with me at the moment, so I'm going to have to hold off making the video of Rhythm Everywhere for a while. So Sorry!!!

@blueoctopede I know from talking to my best friend that Yes were poorly managed, we've had long discussions about them and what they'd be doing if they were still in business now. I'm lead to believe that one of the Worlds Of Wonder managers also founded or in some way managed Yes. My best mate and i are a big fan of the Yak Bak and Mega Mouth toys made by Yes, ever heard of or used them yourself? They're lots of fun to play with.

@Twilight101cp Well, people selling working Teddies usually price them sky high, which is a big ripoff. The prices can vary pretty widely, but personally I wouldn't pay more than $45 for one, if possible. I've seen working Teddies sell for over $100 and under $10, so you'd need to do a bit of looking around to find a good deal.

@IRunLA90210 Hello! I got most of mine on Ebay. I checked Costco today and it doesn't look like they sell Teddy anymore unfortunately... You might be able to get one on teddyruxpin . com, but last I saw the website said Teddy was out of stock, but they still have the cartridges that go with him. They're marked down in price quite a bit, too, but personally I think you'd be able to find a better deal on Ebay =)
