Nice lesson Keith... I love it when you give ideas from records like "The Freeze" from Albert Collins. You explain it and at the other hand you give example of what you explaining at the same time. Very useful tips. Thank you !!!

My only regret in life is that I did not go to MIT. I was primarily a singer who played guitar a little. I was self taught and assumed I couldn't get in because my guitar playing wasn't good enough. I also assumed it was for the rich kids of the Hollywood elite. I had already graduated from LB state, moved to Silverlake to work 7 nights a week in restaurants on Melrose ave. I spent all my days trying learn guitar and write songs using my 4-track cassette recorder. I wish so much I would have sought out help and at least talked to the folks at the school to see what was possible. I did go on to front bands as lead singer but always wanted to front a blues band with a guitar. Had I known Keith was there, I would have sold my soul to the devil to pay for it... ha ha

Hi Keith!! Wow, what a time warp tp see you, WL Milo here, class of '84. You were always my favorite teacher at MI, thanks for all I learned from you. I hope all is good with you and yours! I'm a happy grandfather now but still playing the blues. I just posted a short raw video of me riffing on a new guitar built for me by John Kingma of Apollo Guitars. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp-4c56Bd8atrNE All the Best Keith! WL Milo

I wish i could find actual exercises to practice these techniques other than just being told they exist.lol So raking exists, now incorporate that into your playing. 😆 well why didnt i think of that. Its like elmer fudd doesnt fall til bugs gives him a book about gravity. 😆 🤣 im like beginner/mediate and im trying really hard to break over that hump into intermediate but no1 will show me how. I guess its time for a face to face teacher.
