Great Contemplation on improving your skills by embracing them as they are😊🙏🏻 And a statement for the value of a good vibrato in harmonication. Thanxx Adam

These videos of yours are amazing. I was about to end my learning "session" for today, but I said that 40 minutes ago. I just REALLY want to play more harmonica when I watch your vidoes!

Thank you for your lesson. Is throat vibrato possible with tongue blocking technique, please?
@norfolknwhey478711 ай бұрын
Yes, and it’s arguably easier due to having an open embouchure when TB’ing

Another decent harmonica video. Has anybody in the Harmonica community done a video tutorial on mics, busking amps and effect peddles?

Adam, still trying to produce my first vibrato. Do you recommend additional breath exercises that we can do without the harmonica?

But what is actually happening with your mouth and throat? Thank you for sharing your lessons.

Another well done lesson - if you can remember, what microphone were you using in this video? It was a long time ago so no worries if you can't recall.

I believe I'm playing a Bb diatonic. I used that key on most of my early videos.

Sorry to be a pedant but what you're describing is actually tremolo, not "vibrato." Vibrato is oscillation in pitch/tone. Tremolo is the controlled tremble of volume/sound.
@gussowsclassicbluesharmoni27267 жыл бұрын
You're quite right. The problem is that I'm doing both things, and/or one or the other thing, depending on where I place my tongue relative to my throat. If I pull my tongue somewhat down into my throat, I get a heavy Howlin' Wolf style vibrato, with notable variance in pitch. If I have my tongue forward and I'm inhaling rather lightly, I'm getting much more tremolo--i.e., pitch isn't really varying, but intensity is varying. As I slowly slide my tongue back towards my throat, and also as I pull more air through, tremolo begins to move towards vibrato. I just tend to call it "vibrato." But you're right that they're two different things. I'm not sure, however, that you realized that I'm shifting between the two and blending the two in the subtle ways I've described here.

Unsubbed. After hearing you mouth off about the President. Go blow your horn in Venezuela. Comrade

@Cannondale2019: Fascinating. So the fact that, as a free-speech libertarian and liberal centrist, I spent a lot of time talking about the American creed, "E Pluribus Unum" and celebrating the promise of America as represented by our founding inheritance of immigration (including my distant ancestor, Puritan poet Anne Bradstreet), and that fact that I see our current president recent speech (Twitter) and rally as inimical to that vital inheritance leads you to want to exile me? Venezuela is the last place in the world I want to move to. I love my country, America the Beautiful, and will continue to speak on our nation's behalf against a president who cares only for his own ego.
