Noticed that in Freddie freeloader in Bb if you changed the chords to b5s on the 5, 4, and the Ab in turnaround that you could change the melody during that to any whole tone or 3rd away and it still sounds like it fits. BTW did you say you use the f blues scale on the 5 chord? If not it seems to sound good atm.
