If one note per beat is an 1/8th note, and two notes per beat are 1/16th notes, are three notes per beat still triplets in 6/8. And are four notes per beat 1/32nd notes in 6/8 ?

6/8 seems basically the same to me as 4/4 (or maybe 2/4) with a swung triplet rhythm. Am I missing something?
