Hi Marty, thanks for all your great lessons and other videos. I was wondering if you could maybe do a lesson on take the time by dream theater? Its a very technical great song but I can't find any good lessons on them, so I was wondering if you could help out? Anyway, thanks for reading and thanks for another great vid!

Hey Boss, i'm a 68 yr old country boy trying to learn to play blues on my Les Paul which i've had for years and never played it much. I'm a country music player mostly so I usually play my acoustics. I've been watching your videos and lessons for quite sometime. I've been playing for about 30 yrs and am a moderate player who never focus much on leads because I find my self singing mostly at the jams we have been doing once a week for the past 18 yrs. You have been a real inspiration for me, thanks. I have learned a SO much from you and been able to put into my leads, lessons learned from you. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO TEACHING ALL US. PLEAS KEEP IT COMING.

Marty the rut buster himself! Thanks a lot man you really inspire some new sounds from me. It's frustrating getting to a point where you just can't seem to get anything going again! Cheers!
@mickeymcconnell79617 жыл бұрын
Dan H I agree! I get to where it seems like my solos start to sound alike. I have stuff in my head but when it gets to my fingers, it sounds similar. I don't know if it's just me hearing it that way or if everyone else hears it too. Marty helps give me a little push out of the rut.
@bwustinbweem7 жыл бұрын
Mickey McConnell same brother. It all comes with practice and the right inspiration. Also everyone has their own style of playing so to us to sounds the same but to others maybe it's a way of playing they rarely think about
@mickeymcconnell79617 жыл бұрын
Dan H That's what I try to think about. My "same old same old" may be new to someone else. I feel like I tend to do better if it's just me, no backing track or anything.

Lovely Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Riddleagan Blossoming Solo Remedy (probably on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for mastering guitar scales without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got great success with it.

Great timing - the other day I was playing with someone much more experienced and he had me solo in E. I ended up staying in the A shape for longer than I wanted to - almost forgot about the upper register.

Sweet. Never thought of using that blues note in that way. I just made a really neat lick out of it.
@rishab0B7 жыл бұрын
I started that switching because of your Blues Em run. Starting from open Low E string. That one helped me a lot in traversing all over the fret. @Marty Music: Can you please do some more runs like that? Like the Em Blues run or the Am pentatonic run, that helps me move all over the fret more than anything. Thanks for the lesson, nice licks.

Hi Marty, I follow you regularly but don't know how to get an email to you and I wanted to ask a question. I have about 16 guitars and don't play many of them very often.
