In late 1997, Chan Kinchla’s wife gave birth to their first child. He took a brief hiatus from touring, and Eric Schenkman filled in for a handful of shows. If you look up “Sweet Talking Hippie” live at Wetlands Preserve, which was in January of 1998, you will see Eric Schenkman playing with Blues Traveler on that show as well. It was Eric’s first major shows since a very nasty split with Spin Doctors a few years prior.
