Wait is that a 2-5-1 in Db-Gb-B? Why not Db-Bb-Cb?

Theoretically it would be right, yes, but writing Cb makes it harder to read, especially for musicians who think about notes. What notes are in BMaj7 ? What notes are in CbMaj7 ? Count the time it take you to answer to both of these questions :-) The roots Db Bb B make it harder to understand it's a II V I though, I agree with you on that. Chord charts are not about theory accuracy, but about efficiency for the musicians. Anyway, musicians are usually aware of this tricky II V I.

@@guitareimprovisation wouldn't it have been better to write the ii V as a c# and F#, since those are the chords in key of B? The way you have it implies key change of Db to Cb to B, which definitely seems far more complicated than just writing the whole ii V I in B. Wouldnt having a Db change to c# also imply the key change from Db to B much better? I assume you were trying to keep it all flats, but I think that's not ideal for this case. I do want to say though, in general I think your charts are some of the best laid out for ease of reading. Enharmonics are an issue I've noticed with many backing tracks on youtube

@@mattmann1623 When the key of the song is with flats you use flats every where , the same for sharps. As simple as that.

@jose ceraia The key changes four times, and one section is written here in both Cb and in B. Since it's been stated that B was purposfully chosen, personally I think it would be better to write the entire ii V I in B than to have a sneaky enharmonic key change. Besides, if we were worrying about accurate accidentals, it would have to be written in Cb anyway.

@@guitareimprovisation , have no idea what he's complaining about as you clearly start off with a click track and the first chord is Bb which pretty much tells you what key it's in. If he needs more proof he can go listen to Toots Thielman's orginal version.
