Have followed Y&T (formally Yesterday and Today) since '75, while living in the S.F. Bay Area. Had met and got to know the band many years ago. Dave is quite an amazing "humble" talented guitarist, musician, vocalist. Mind you, the 24 people (so far) who thumbs down this killer live version of "I Believe In You" are jealous they'll never be as nearly good a guitar player, musician, and vocalist as Dave Meniketti.

That solo!!!! I must've heard hundreds of solos in my lifetime, but this one....absolutely outstanding! There's so much passion in every note. First heard it on that Live album. Still makes you cry these days.

I saw Y&T last Friday in Aschaffenburg Germany. I've seen a lot of concerts in my life but only a few with such an atmosphere. After this song the crowd was really going mad. It was true magic. I saw in Dave Menikettis face that he was deeply stirred at that moment. Thank you Y&T for that great evening.
@todd9437 Жыл бұрын
Dave's vibrato is so good it sounds like he's playing one note with multiple fingers! The musician's musician. How Y&T did not become super huge I'll never know.

I've loved this song forever. The band , too, but this performance... God damn! The epitome of a fucking rock star . The most underrated musician in history. Dave Meniketti rages, and I hope he knows what an effect he's had on people. I got married for the first time in 1988. This Time was our wedding song. That didn't last, but my love for this band does.

Dave is the greatest vocalist/guitarist of all time in terms of being a full human and not appearing to suffer from some dysfunctional ego driven maniac, social misfit, pussy hound or rebel without a cause that so defines much of our artist class. Now sure, there are other singers or guitar players who can technically do greater feats within the physical realm but so can my computer. But in terms of being an artist, expressing through sound the experience of being a human being in the real world, without an unrealistic political or social agenda, just the sweet, tender, raw, passionate, angry, etc. adult reality of what makes up most of our lives, Dave Meniketti's body of work and guitar playing expresses it more than any other artist I'm aware of.

Been jammin' this band a lot. I didn't know Miniketti had it like that on the axe. He's really good. I've always loved guitar solos. My favorite song is Contagious and yeah back in the day I liked "Summer Time Girls"... and this one....I like the lyrics and the vocals but, it's the guitar that gets me.
