Hi Dorinda! That’s pretty much how I make it but try adding a couple of chopped boiled eggs. It truly is the secret to fantastic tuna salad! I also add celery seed, and a tiny bit of ground mustard. The secret though, is the boiled eggs and sweet pickle relish!! So good!!!

This recipe is exactly the same as mine, and I got it from my mom. I've been making it for over 65 years and it was/is always a winner with my kids. Seeing many comments from people having similar recipes, I would guess that this may have been a standard from a bygone era a few generations back. I'm so glad this one's never been lost! I've never made it with pine nuts, but since you recommended them, I'd love to try them! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us!

@eagleeye23002 жыл бұрын
Exactly my tuna recipe, but I don't use as much pickle relish, (or pine nuts). And I use red onion because it looks so good in there. Sometimes I put peeled chopped apple in the tuna, too, if I'm in the mood. Granny Smith or Fiji and very small pieces. A squeeze of lemon to keep the apple from disclosing. (I always made the tuna in my family, because my sister's were lazy.)

Love a plain old Tina sandwich. But one of my favs is a tuna salad (. Iceberg lettuce chopped up, 1 large can tuna in water drained and flaked, 3 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored & cut into bite size pieces ( about 1/2l” pieces ). Mix all together. Serve with Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. That’s it. And I serve with a Buttery Cracker ( Waverly brand ). Perfect for a hot summer day ).
