There is a mario fangame that was made in 2003 I beleive called: mario builder which includes remixes of music and you can make it compatible with the snes controller by editing the controls

It's kinda funny to see Volcano Lotuses and Pansers both in there, considering that they were probably intended to be the same enemy with a slightly different design. They actually have the same name in Japanese!

I loved to play Super Mario Bros 3 while the Nintendo Entertainment System was a new thing for me as kid. I played a lot of Famicom games in form of yellow cratridges (which was for Famiclone machines), but the 3rd Super Mario game wasn't there. I begged my mom to buy an original NES game console and I got the Super Mario Bros 3 and the Monster in My Pocket game casettes. I enjoyed the SMB3 game in the most of my free time, I don't forget how I obtained the magic flutes to warp to the last World 8. :) I wish there would be a community modification where there would a certain chance that enemy creatures could have opponents from other Mario games in their original location.
