There’s some pretty justifiable reasons to be annoyed with parts of Sonic Origins. There’s quite a smattering of weird bugs that weren’t fixed, the marketing at least implied there would be more playable characters than just Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles (especially with how heavily Amy was featured in it, and her distinct play style from Sonic Advance fits these games so well in rom hacks), and they couldn’t sort out the rights to the original Sonic 3 music, at least for half the zones. At this price… Sega should’ve let this have more time in the oven, try to resolve some of these issues, rather than rushing it to be released on Sonic’s “birthday” which who even remembers when that is? _That all being said…_ it’s also a 95% faithful recreation of four of the absolute best games of the 16 bit era. So even with how unpolished it is in places it’s _very_ fun, and I don’t regret purchasing it one bit. I just hope they eventually do some patches to smooth out the jagged edges. I give it a solid five and a half chaos emeralds out of seven, I’m just a little disappointed because I know it could be an easy seven out of seven had it been done with a bit more more care. These games deserve a bit more respect than Sega gave them.

@@StarFried yeah their rendition of those songs is pretty terrible, I’m not a fan of the instrumentation of the new Super Sonic music either (though I like the melody). But for me I had Sonic 3 when I was really young so it’s disappointing from a nostalgic point of view too. Though I just played the music on my iPad with headphones while playing those zones lol

Most of these mission are basic ones, but there's always ones that stand out, like the Metropolis Zone one at the very beginning. Using the bumpers is quite a unique thing to do!

Technically the robots do have feelings as they are controlled by flickies until broken free by Sonic or whoever you are playing as. But yeah the robots themselves don’t. (I don’t even think they’d work without the flickies powering them being honest.)

I think it's worth the price. The missions mode alone can take some time to complete. But if you wanna wait I am positive the price will go down. I bet we'll see this on sale around $20 in the near future. 🤞

I S-Ranked every mission, including the extra hard DLC. The Sonic 2 Wing Chase Zone and the very last Sonic 3 one with Tails and the balloons were very hard. Still, none of them challenge you to the extent the hardest missions in Sonic Adventure 2 do

I did CD before 2 because while it's release order, i played cannonical order, also i already got S rank on every single mission & there were only 4 that i found actually difficult & 3 of them are from the harder / extreme missions, also also partially off-topic but yesterday locally & my grandma's home (where i stay for a month this summer) & today online i was playing some team team sonic racing with my best (or atleast best female (not 100% sure which 1 right now)) friend, yesterday also some origins sonic 2 & 3 versus mode, OG sonic 2 versus mode & mania's versus mode & i played nasty (it was fun for both of us) from cancelling the countdown when everyone's ready when it's 0 once, to stealing all of her rings when she got hit in front of me to lying where bombs are in the special stages in versus mode, it was a lot of fun, aginst friends i love playing dirty to troll them😆
