Bluetooth Kit for Mazda RX-8 2004-2008 by GTA Car Kits

Greetings from Sweden! Got my kit today and my friend thought "what the heck, let's get this over with" so we installed it immediately. Showed this video to him and some co-workers and they initially thought it looked too difficult ("It's never as easy as they show it, blabla") but we got going with it anyway. And... we did it! Screws were easy, bolt was doable even without a good extender, and I didn't have to use too much violence to get the stereo unit out. Plenty of holes to draw cables through. And when starting up, the kit showed up on bluetooth devices (though it took some scary 20-30 seconds)! This didn't feel so much as working on a car as it did working with the inside of a PC. Firmware 9.55 on a 2004 RX-8. So far (an hour.. ehm..) it has worked and it really shows off how much the BOSE stereo can perform while not using crappy FM. Buttons work as well. So thanks for making this!

9.55 on a 2004 RX 8 here too, works good. How are you finding it for re-pairing after you restart the car? I have to turn on/off my Iphone's bluetooth (so far) to get it to re-pair... or rather play over the radio (even though it shows that it's already connected). Could be the Iphone (Ios 10.3.3)

Just got the kit a couple weeks ago, finally had time to hook it up in my 2004 RX 8 GT. Great instructional video. Took about 30 mins to install. I ran the Aux and USB charger to the front right side of the cup holder as there's a notch there that pops out cleanly (and can close over the wires). For the 10mm socket, it was only hand tight on mine, so I could actually use my hand without a ratchet to get it off. Sounds great, although it seems I have to turn bluetooth off and on to get the stereo to listen to bluetooth after I restart the car. Will explore that more.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE RADIO BECAUSE THE PLASTIC FACEPLATE CAN SEPARATE!! IF IT SEPARATES THEN THAT MEANS THE RADIO AND A/C WONT WORK!

The usb charging port is for charging only. You can charge the phone, and at the same time do bluetooth audio streaming. Thank you.

I realize this comment is old, but I just tried and had same problem. Tried again, pressing and holding the text button first (just a tiny bit ahead of the 1 button) and it worked (9.82 for me)

my cd changer is broken as says "disc in" all the time. if i install this device, will it still work even though the car has a cd in it?

Why do u have to put a microphone?

For taking bluetooth calls. Without a mic all you would be able to do is listen to a call you wouldn't be able to speak to the person on the other end. Of course, it's 100% optional if you don't plan on taking calls via bluetooth.

You need to check the metal tabs on the side of the radio. If you separate them it will cause the radio to not work. If you need a video, search for "Driven by Madness" channel, and he has an installation video on this product (or very close). Check the tabs on the side of the radio unit. squeeze them together if they're apart.

Does this work with 9.82? I know on the website it says it is not compatible with 9.81 but what about .82? Please answer as soon as you can as I'm pretty confident on buying this if it does work with .82

In this install video they actually have 9.82 for the firmware, so yeah, it'll work. (I had 9.55 and it worked for me).

rx8forum.de/index.php/Attachment/18557-L%C3%B6sung-JPG/ on the red spots, there are 2 screws.. in my case one of them was not in the right position... i had to push it back in the correct position and then it worked. I hope this helps!

Yamoo Gaming to add on what the other guy said the faceplate has 4 screw holding it together and 2 internal connection between that , if those 4 screws are off it will loosen those 2 internal connection which I think is causing my issue ( I'll update tonight) . GL and d.b.g.
